UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

Thanks for your comments

I called ****** ********* and she said " there are about 50 people on the waiting list". Those were her exact words

Wow. 50? That's a lot. I would assume about 5 or those could make it in. Not many people will turn down uthsc. Really regretting only applying to UT. I wonder what time frame they will give us to be notified. Did y'all's status change to yellow triangles? Mine is still a green circle.

I was waitlisted too. Seems like a lot of people are on the waitlist.

I'm waitlisted as well, but I was accepted into TWU so I am just going to go ahead and commit to them. Good luck to everyone!

@JAB26 How do you recommend we study for the TEAS? I regret not taking that one before the Hesi, but the TEAS scares me

My statis is still a green dot, it has not changed to a yellow triangle.

Hi guys i have been accepted to HBU and wait listed for UT, i am praying and hoping to get in because it is alot cheaper. I am so nervous about HBU because so many people tell me how strict it is. Good luck to all of us wait listed i hope spots open up to all of us. God Bless!

My statis is still a green dot, it has not changed to a yellow circle yet.
Mine as well :( that ugly green dot...

I used a book called Mc-Graw-Hill's Nursing School Entrance Exams and it helped me a lot. I would just be aware that the science portion covers a broad range of material with a lot of Chemistry in my case. There were a couple of earth science questions that I hadn't been exposed to in a while so study up on that. I actually ran out of time during math but I ended up getting a 92 so it all worked out. I personally felt that the TEAS was harder than the HESI (I got a 94.4) just because there was more science prep. involved. The HESI anatomy questions I found to be more in-depth than the ones on the TEAS however. I hope that helps.

Same here, waitlisted for UTHSC and accepted to TWU. Guess that makes the decision easier than expected.

Was anyone told a time frame with the wait list?

For those that are wait listed I would reccommend printing out the paper work from the website and getting your things together. Such as immunizations, cpr certification, physical, and drug-background check. Also go on and add UTHSC to your FASFA application so you can just turn everything in.This way you won't be scrambling at the last minute.
