I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

I am also new to this site. I think this is an awesome website, but just like Kimbers2882 reading through all of your posts makes me a little nervous lol . Stacymonique you have great stats :/ which only makes me even more anxious !! Cant believe you did not get in!!

I was going to apply to the Accelerated BSN program 2013 at UTHSC :( but I just realized I missed a section on my HESI :(.. I'm from Dallas, so I took this test back in September @ one of the Community Colleges here and missed the Critical Thinking section. I dont know what i was thinking :sour:...i guess I double checked and made sure i was taking all the sections required for TCU but forgot to do the same for UTHSC....which sucks!!!!! Do any of you know if i can take the HESI again? I know some schools will not let you take the test more than once per application period!! any advice is greatly appreciated !!! ;)

I am in the same situation as you I took it in my community college as well. The hesi exam didn't include the critical thinking part either, and it was for the ADN program. I contacted elsevier and they told me that the exam for the BSN program was different. So I am assuming that we would have to take the exam again and since it is different the first time you took it won't count. I might be wrong but that is what I understood.

You can take the HESI twice for UTHSC. If you didn't take the critical thinking section, you'd have to take the whole test over.

I don't have experience with sending test scores to other schools. I googled it and saw: "Elsevier Evolve, the company who creates the HESI A2 exam, will send your score report to other schools. You may contact them at 1-800-950-2728, Option 2, to make a request." I don't know if there's a way to do it online.

I was wondering the same thing! :-) I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack every time I get email! Nothing has changed on mine, I have a yellow triangle but I'm taking classes this semester. Still think we are going to be ok though. Staying positive!

I know right! Well if we are waiting till December, I may lose it! Haha! It's nerve racking! I only applied to UT. So I'm waiting to see if I can start in spring or have to wait till fall! So I am truly staying positive! I think it's just a test of our patience! :-)

Orientation is Dec 18.. Im thinking they'll tell you guys before that so you can go to orientation. I doubt they'll have more than one orientation. Its from 8-4 so Im thinking you guys will hear back before then

I know....same boat here. Only applied to UT...thought...hummmm 4.0 science and 93 HESI....surely I'll get in! Apparently NOT! Starting to study for TEAS for TWU and UTMB....ugh.
