UTHSC Houston FNP Summer/Fall 2016

Published

Hi!!! So I applied by the January 1, 2016 deadline. Any others out there?

1 year of ER experience, prior career as dietitian with emphasis on nutrition education and counseling. 3.7 Nursing GPA. Just wanted to give it a try!

I got my packet yesterday. I have also taken a few of the classes over at UTMB. I am having to send in the syllabus and fill out a form for he classes I need to transfer. Anybody else having to do this?

I spoke with the advisor today and student affairs and no one told me to fill out a form. I did send the syllabus for courses to them though. What form is it?

It was the PETITION FOR EQUIVALENCY CREDIT form. I think I need to get a Hep C titer done...I don't think I have ever been required to get one before.

I found the form, thanks. I sent it for 4 classes (12 credits) although I think they will only allow me to transfer 3 classes (9 credits).

Not sure where you live but you can go to the UT student health clinic and get the titer done for $35. I did

I received my packet yesterday....My immunizations were cleared in e-value..... My background and drug screen are still missing from e-value.... I am getting anxious because I've done everything and the hold is still not off.

I just did the background check and signed up for the drug testing. They took my payment, but I have not gotten any information about when or where to go for the test...Did it take a while to get that once you signed up and paid?

Yes, I paid on a Friday and they sent a email on the following Monday to test. When they send the email, there is no date or time. It just says "random" but when I called to ask what that meant, it meant you MUST go within 48 hours. So I went the same day

OMG! I got accepted too! I just checked my status on myUTH!

I was just admitted for fall 2016 (UTHSC Houston). I just received a letter from the University with program information, and in the doc it states that students are required to find their own clinical preceptors. I am confused because the handbook on the website states that it is the school's responsibility to place the student with a preceptor. Can someone please clarify this for me? I have written the director but have not yet heard back.

Hey every one I also got accepted into the fall 2016 program. I am very excited to start and am looking forward to meeting all of you.

I was admitted for summer and I did not see anything about finding my own preceptors. What document said that?
