UTHSC Houston FNP Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey everyone! I got my acceptance to UT Health Science Center at Houston's FNP program earlier this week. I'm still shocked!

I was wondering if anyone had any information about the classes? I know they're in-person, I'm just trying to figure out if they're during the day or evening and if they're most days of the week or just a couple. I'm going to an info session on June 20th, but I'm wanting to know sooner for work reasons.

I'm not married and have no kids and don't plan to work at least until I feel comfortable, so school will be my only focus. Thank you so much for the advice! Makes me feel better. I was just super nervous about Fall start being way too much. I heard anything below a "B" is failing? So that was concerning as well. I'm excited though! Thanks again! :))

Yes, anything below an 80 is failing. It seemed scary to me at first too but it's really not that bad.

Cool! And congrats on your new career and accomplishment!!! I want to start full time in the summer... just had a baby in February but I do work prn... was wondering if you had any classmates with little ones who did full time study? Just don't want to overstress myself cause the profesors at the info session made it sound like part time was the only way to go...everyone that's an NP that I've talk to say just go full time that is doable..

Yes there were several classmates with young children, some of them with infants. Two of my good friends in the program had toddlers and had no trouble with it at all.

Awesome and your friends did full time as well? Omg I'm so glad I met you! Was worried for a moment!

Hey FarmerFNP did you have to find your own preceptors while you were in the program?

Hello, I just recently got accepted to the UTHSC FNP program in houston I was wondering are we required to find our own preceptors, or those the school provide that for you?
