Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
No, I don't. Although as I remember it, last semester everyone had the CPR and Immunizations holds on their account. When the holds updated, they updated to include more that just the previous 2 ( or so I read here on AN) for those that were accepted.
My worry is that the 2 hold's that are showing now are the 2 standard holds that were on everyone's account last semester. With the recent system maintenance, it could mean nothing. Or it could signify acceptance, who knows? I just do not think anyone should be discouraged yet if they don't have updated holds...Or go out and celebrate until they have a solid acceptance letter/ green check.
I also applied to TWU and have been accepted...which I am super excited about! But, if I am accepted here, I am not sure which I would choose. Does anyone have any opinions about either one? Also, does anyone have more than 2 holds? I am pretty convinced that none of this means anything at this point. I think that they are still trying to update what they were working on last week. I guess only time will tell.

Ahh. That's right! I'd forgotten- The background and drug test holds came later. Well, these hold updates could be meaningless then. But I still have a feeling...
Last semester nobody had holds until they were accepted. I was one of those applicants that never had a change! That was the 'trick' that everyone was looking for then. From what I recall there was nobody that had holds change that wasn't accepted. This is a new system, but it makes no sense to have holds for these items if you're not admitted. The poster who stated they had holds last semester and didn't get accepted doesn't seem accurate from what I remember but who knows! :-) Still thinking positive thoughts as my holds are still showing but no status change yet!
