Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.

I just had a question for anyone reading this forum who is attending UTHSC right now. I was accepted to the accelerated program and was just wondering what the schedule was like. I found a curriculum online, but not a schedule...
Mine is still the same.... I do not see any holds or changes on my account, and my last name starts with an H as well. I clicked on admissions status and it just shows complete. I am not gonna let myself get upset if I do not get accepted. I understand that everything happens for a reason , and I have already been accepted into UTMB . I know only time will tell for sure whether or not I get the check or slashed circle. God works in mysterious ways and I am most happy at this point while I wait. I can only hope that each of you still waiting to hear one way or another do not have to stress out for any length of time . I know that last Spring the holds took almost a week to update on their system, and even then some people's accounts did not change, but they got letters of acceptance. Good Luck to each and every one of us waiting.... and to those who have already seen the infamous "hold change" Congratulations!! :cheers:
So what are the standard holds? I did not check my holds before the maintenance that they did, so now I am not sure if mine have changed or not. My admission status only says complete and my holds are the Nursing hold and the Immunization hold. This is craziness...
My status has not changed. I have no Holds and only my official transcript left in my To-Do list and it still lists Status as Initiated. My Admission Status still says Incomplete with a yellow triangle.

The standard holds in the old UTlink system were the CPR hold and Immunization hold. There were no holds listed on the new myuth (at least for me) before the system update. From reading previous semester threads, their holds changed to include 4 holds total when accepted.
I'm hoping the 2 new holds are a positive sign, but honestly I'm thinking its just the maintenance/system update. I have both the new holds showing on my site, although my admission status continues to say complete, and my last begins with a W. Even though I'm trying not to get excited, my heart is thumping away! I'm going to check one last time, turn off my computer, put on my headphones and go for a nice long run to relieve some of this waiting stress!
I am sure that this is a silly question...but, has anyone called? I don't have anything in my To Do List either.
That's not a silly question at all! I think that it's a very good one. I haven't called...I think that I'm afraid of what the answer will be. So, has any brave soul called?
