UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020
Updated: Published
I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

It's actually kind of scary to see how many people are applying with previous degrees while I'm over here applying, literally 2 years after high school?
I had a friend who only went to a community college to complete her prerequisites (maybe earned an associates) and got accepted to UTHealth.

Hey! I'm a J2 right now. I did my prereqs at HCC and applied to UTH 2 years later with also no degree! Anyone can definitely get into this school.

Hi Brandon! I’m in the same boat as you. Except I’ve been out of high school quite a bit longer, lol! I’ve taken all of my prerequisites at WCJC. I’m actually finishing up my last three now. I have 4.0 in nursing and science, and a 3.97 overall. I haven’t retaken any classes. My overall HESI score was 96.4 (100 in both math and A&P).
Don’t worry, as long as your credits are from an accredited institution, your application will get just as much consideration as the next person’s! Good luck to you, we’ve got this! ???
One thing to keep in mind that I haven't seen discussed too much in this thread is UT will NOT accept any lab coursework that is done ONLINE. I believe the only school I've come across that offers labs online is Dallas County Community College. So if you have taken any online labs, UT claims they can tell from your transcript (makes no sense since course number is the same as an in person lab) and will not accept them. This is only for the LAB portion of a course, lecture is fine online. For example, HCC offers all labs on campus but you can take the lecture portion of AP, Micro, Chem, etc online, they will accept the lecture online. Just a friendly heads up!

ONLY if it is in person. I took Chem in a winter minimester completely online through DCCC and they told me they wouldn't accept the lab so I had to retake the lab portion on campus through HCC during the spring semester. I assume they know you're taking it online if your address is in Houston but the school is in Dallas.

Hey Brandon! Yes they do accept students without previous degrees, I've seen quite a few on the cohort FB pages. Your stats are great, any school would be lucky to have you in their cohort!
