Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME
Thanks...this was my 3rd application...I have a 3.68 GPA...not the highest that I have seen, but I think pretty good. Was trying to go back to school for a career change. Going to have to shake something up and start studying for the TEAS.
My last name starts with a "W" just in case anyone is trying to figure something out lol

My third application with a 3.9 in all ares and a 92% on my HESI on the first try. My portal has not been updated but I know that most likely I am waiting on a denial from experience. They will all change by tonight or tomorrow. Please do not be hard on yourselves because I am almost 100% positive this is a lottery and has even been stated by current and prior students. I only say this because I do not want anyone to be discouraged. Congrats to everyone who has made it and as for me I will try this lottery system one more time before I am forced to chose a different career because I have children who are depending on me to provide for them. Stay positive and I pray that God opens the correct door for me and for everyone else.
I pray that a door or even a window will open for us. I know for spring I’m going to have to really study for the teas and hesi. I think I’m going to even consider chamberlain. Don’t forget to look into UTA’s online bsn program.

I was looking at UTA the other day, and I was so confused on their deadlines and pre-requisites. Are the perquisites we took for UTH able to satisfy their prerequisites? I am applying to every school I am able to if denied which I am most like to be at this point lol

I spoke to UTA and there deadlines are super far out(I believe about a year) and the program is really long(I think three years). Look into A&M Corpus Christi they have an eline program, the course work is online and they have clinicals in multiple locations including Houston, it is also a very competitive program. I have a friend who did this program and loved it.

I personally thought UTA required more prereqs. You must take Intro to Nursing, Path, and Pharm on top of everything else if I’m not mistaken before you can attend the semester for which you are applying. I have a friend who was fed up and moved to TN for her BSN program. UTA was not even a consideration for her or myself. However, I would apply if I was having a hard time getting accepted. That was my plan. I was about to start preparing for the TEAS. The other drawback for me was that all sciences had to be completed so I would’ve had to delay my application bc I just finished Micro this Spring.

You should also try Sam Houston (they offer it in Hunstville and The Woodlands) & University of St. Thomas if you'd like. The only downfall of UST is that it's 3 years long.
Guys what are your thoughts on PVAMU Nursing School? I heard some say it ain't as good as he other nursing schools but I wanted to get y'all's perspective as well. Thanks!
