UTA Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone!

Starting a thread for those of us who are applying for Spring 2016 for UTA's online BSN program. Just wanted somewhere where we can vent, talk and ask questions. Ill be applying with a 3.5 overall, 3.75 in my sciences and 88.5 on HESI. I will also have 2 considerations! Hope to hear from other potential applicants as well

I applied for both the on and off campus programs for Spring 2016 as well. As far as stats, I currently have a 3.5 overall and 4.0 science GPA. Got a 96%, 384 cumulative score on the HESI (though all I think really matters is you passed). I have 2 considerations also (prev bachelors/masters and 12 science hours at UTA). I hate waiting but looks like I'll have to get used to it until Oct! I'm sure classes will keep my mind busy though. I'll be taking Pharm & developmental psych this summer and Micro & Patho in the fall.

I'm applying for spring 2017 (I know it's early), I am starting in the fall at UTA taking micro, technical writing on campus and texas gov. (POLS2312) and med. terminology online. I can't apply for spring because I need to bring up my science GPA. I really want to be on campus even though I am partnered.

Hello all! I have applied to both the AP and Campus programs for Spring 2016 also. I hope to meet some of you there! I have a 4.0 all around and one consideration. I don't remember my HESI cause it really didn't matter much. Waiting makes for a long summer, lol. But I am keeping my self busy with three kids and summer fun!

I seriously cannot stand the wait! LOL

Its so close!! I just want to know already !

Has anyone heard when we will find out? I heard October sometime...

Yes, about mid to late October.

Hello ALL! I was originally planning on attending El Centro College Fall 2015 nursing program but due to personal reasons I decided to drop and check into UTA since I was going to go there right after ADN. Can anyone give me advise on what to do? Right now I am registered for Tech writing and intro chemistry at DCCCD. I am admitted to UTA and have been communicating with an adviser online. WOuld it be okay to take the classes at DCCCD? Or better if I did them at UTA? I know this is a short notice. WOuld it be better to take Intro to chemistry or general chemistry or does it even matter? I am not quite sure how they select their students but it shows my Admission GPA is 3.422 and my science GPA is 3.333

I have my degree plan and the classes it shows I need are Tech writing, Chemistry, patho, pharm, intro to nursing, and any upper division elective. Also, need to take HESI. So I am assuming I need to complete these classes before I can apply to the program???? When is the next deadline for applying??? PLease help, i fell like I am starting all over because I put everything I had into DCCCD.

If you have 3 of the four sciences already completed you can apply while taking those classes. You just have to show a plan on the application on how you plan and when you will be completing them.

Definitely take the chem class at DCCCD. I just took a chem class and made an A at DCCCD. I think with only a few classes left, I recommend to take pathophysiology, pharmacology, intro to nursing, and tech writing, and upper division elective(though this class is not required to apply) in fall '15 or spring '16 semester of course at UTA. You should go ahead and apply for the Spring 2016 nursing program after you take your HESI.

Funny, I was in the same situation as you. I applied and wanted to go with DCCCD/Methodist nursing program, however, at the last minute I change my mind and decided that UTA is the best school to go into, plus my younger sister is going for the same thing so we both applied. It was an easy transition. No worries; just waiting on acceptance letter!

My sister and I applied for the campus BSN spring 2016. I'll be taking Intro to nursing, pharmacology, and pathophysiology on campus this semester, and I'm taking a POLS class online. We are both excited about going to nursing school together.

Who will be taking these classes at UTA campus?

Good luck to those who applied AP/online and campus BSN!

I am registered to take Chemistry 1406 and Tech writing at DCCCD. Working on next steps...
