UTA Spring 2016

Hello everyone!

Starting a thread for those of us who are applying for Spring 2016 for UTA's online BSN program. Just wanted somewhere where we can vent, talk and ask questions. Ill be applying with a 3.5 overall, 3.75 in my sciences and 88.5 on HESI. I will also have 2 considerations! Hope to hear from other potential applicants as well

Hey! I also just applied. I'm planning on taking chem and stats this summer at my local community college and path and pharm in the fall. I have a 3.37 overall and a 3.67 science gpa. 3 sciences are from uta. I have 54 undergrad hours from uta, and had a cumulative hesi of 332. I'm 32 and hoping for good news. I started at UTA right out of high school 14 years ago but never could declare a major, so I left before doing too much damage to my GPA. Let me know if you hear anything. I heard we will hear back the end of september.

Hello all! Finishing up Pharm, Med Terminology, and Amer Lit now. I will be taking Patho and Intro to Nursing this coming semester.

I have a science GPA of 3.75 and a cumulative GPA of 3.7. I'm partnered with Methodist Mansfield but I applied for the on campus and online program.

Cant wait to hear from other applicants and a word on whether we got in or not. I'll be on pins and needles until then :nailbiting:

I actually puled back my app, so I'll be applying for the Fall 2016 start. I could not get them chem class I needed this summer so I am going to retake A&P 1 since I made a B in it and take stats. I'll take Chem in the Fall, then apply, then path and pharm in the spring/summer before it starts.

I am on pins and needles too!! I hate the waiting game, hoping though with pharm and patho I will not have time to think about it! LOL

This is for anyone that is planning on taking Chem 1451 at UTA.

If you take it with Tanizaki, you are required to purchase a 240$ lab kit (ridiculous, I know) and it has to be from UTA's bookstore- he strictly states this in the syllabus.

I will sell mine for WAY cheaper-- seriously, I just need to get rid of it!

If you or anyone you know might be interested, please message me!

How much do you want for yours? I know I tried this class last fall and actually used up some of the foils, chromotography paper, etc.

So bummed I couldn't get into a chem class this summer. I had to pull back my application. I'll be taking it in the fall and path and pharm in the spring. I'll apply late dec or early jan for the fall 2016 start.

100$ if you want it shipped or 90 if you want to meet and get it. It still has plenty of pH strips and chomotography paper. The only thing wrong is I accidentally broke the glass stirring rod, which sells for like $2.50 I think. And to be honest, you don't need it. The spoonula that comes with it or any other stirring utensil will work fine. It's so expensive for stuff that you barely use!

Okay, I just emailed tankzaki. He just told me to not buy anything yet because he is redoing the class this summer. He said to email him back in July to see if he has changed the book from Timberlake to a new book or new edition. He wil ask know what lab materials we need at that time. Wish I could take you up on it.

No prob! I'm not selling it back to the bookstore, they offer you like 40$ and I would rather just keep it for that. If you find out that it's the same let me know, lol I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon!

Thanks!

I applied for both the on and off campus programs for Spring 2016 as well. As far as stats, I currently have a 3.5 overall and 4.0 science GPA. Got a 96%, 384 cumulative score on the HESI (though all I think really matters is you passed). I have 2 considerations also (prev bachelors/masters and 12 science hours at UTA). I hate waiting but looks like I'll have to get used to it until Oct! I'm sure classes will keep my mind busy though. I'll be taking Pharm & developmental psych this summer and Micro & Patho in the fall.
