UTA Spring 2012

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Alas! Here I go again!;) This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!:D

@SA423,

Are you partnered?

I was accepted into the traditional program. My overall gpa was a 3.7. My science gpa was a 4.0. I did not have any special considerations. Now, I only need to get through pharm... The professor I have is ridiculous...

@SA423, Your Hesi score is not a factor, as long as you pass it.

@Judy. I don't think that matters as long as you are enrolled in the classes and will complete them before nursing school starts. I am currently taking Intro, Patho, and Pharm. I will be finished with them in mid December.

@Judyduckett

No, your current classes have nothing to do with being on the waitlist. As a waitlisted student, you MUST reapply just as you did this time. No carryovers.

@SA423

Your HESI does matter. Not as much as some other things, but when you get down to comparisons, it all matters. Figured that out in my advisor's office last Spring.

I'm taking pharm too and i'm scared...this class is so HARD! one more test-the Final i have to do well or ELSE!!!

@gracie did you apply for AP program too?

@AvJK,

this is my 1st time applying...so i wonder what are my chances of starting Spring

@AVJK, my adviser told me your hesi score does not matter as long as you pass and that they don't use it for ranking. I wish UTA would inform their advisers correctly. It seems many students have conflicting information.

Judy, are you taking pharm on campus? I am struggling so much in that class. I joined a study group out of desperation. Normally, I study alone because I can focus better. Hopefully, this study group helps me out a lot.

I did not apply for the AP program since I did not have all my prereqs finished by the application due date.

Tejas03 am so disappointed that you did not get in. You are a faithful blogger and i love your positive attitude.I was so sure you of all people would get in. But like you as i was unpartnered and it seems that only partnered applicants got in. I wish they would have told unpartnered people this earlier so we could proceed to plan B.Keep your head up as you work toward becoming an RN.

I got accepted today!

I am kind of shocked reading through your posts! I have a 3.5 overall and maybe about a 3.85 science GPA, Honors college, no partner, no experience, 92 on HESI, BUT I took ALL my classes at UTA which I think they REALLY like. This was my first time applying. HESI doesn't matter you jsut have to pass...recently talked a teacher about it!

I don't mean to sound obnoxious or conceited AT ALL!!! It just seems like my experience is totally opposite of 95% of things I have read on here.

Congrats dmatthewb!!! Did you get into traditional or AP? Congrats again!!!

Thank you!!! :) It's just the traditional. I didn't know about the AP until a month ago :/ (thanks advisors)

I am having the HARDEST time getting in to see them! It's so upsetting!

I applied to only the traditional even though I do work for Baylor. I considered the online but learn better in person. Got accepted into the traditional program. I had a previous bachelor's, took all my sciences at UTA. Had a 4.0 science and a 3.7 overall GPA. Glad to finally hear back from the school one way or the other. :)
