UTA Spring 2012

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Alas! Here I go again!;) This thread is dedicated to all hopefuls to either of the programs- AP or traditional. Let's partake in the sharing of ideas, suggestions, and/or insight in the "intricacies" of this nursing program. Former grads, new or current students are encouraged to chat. Knowledge is power, indeed! Continued blessings and success to all! Good Luck!:D

How do you guys feel about the Pharm final? You think it will be all old test questions? I am nervous!

Well, I received my mail. I'm on the waiting list for the AP BSN, but was accepted to the traditional program. This is my third time to apply for a nursing program (first for UTA). I hope for some, this shows that persistence does pay off. I wish all of you the best!

And if anyone was accepted to the traditional program or have taken in-seat classes at UTA, please private message me as I have no idea how to get around that campus - only visited once.

Strictly going off posts from here... I am thinking it will be old test questions (largely due to the announcement that all tests will be open for review), all though they are open now...anyway, I am thinking old tests - but if I have learned anything in this class, expect the unexpected...so, I will study the old questions and review all the information again...

Honestly, I will be so thankful when this course is over...

Congratulations! On your AP BSN - Are you partnered? And if so with whom?

Seriously you all are making me want to drive home to just check the mail...haha...

I am not partnered, which is why I think I was put on the waiting list for the AP BSN program. I actually quit my job in August (where I was working evenings, 25 hrs a week and never go to see my kid) to go to school full-time and be a more involved single parent. It was a gigantic leap of faith.

Congrats to you all that were accepted and wait listed!! :)

I got my letter and it was a denial...oh well life goes on!! ;) I will move forward with plan B and not worry too much about this.

Best of luck to you all this year!! :)

I think that is an amazing sacrafice!! You are going to do great in either program!

OH NO!!! I am slowly loosing hope for myself... were you partnered? If so, with who?

Does it not tell you why you were denied? I don't get how they can deny us admission but not bother to tell you the reason why...although I guess if you called they would tell you.

I'm so sorry to read that Tejas! But you know, DO NOT GIVE UP...from other posts you can see there is always a chance next semester....

No, I was not partnered.

This was my 2nd go around so I'm done with UTA...I have been a LVN for going on 12 yrs so I will just do a LVN-RN transition program in May and not worry about why things didn't work out at UTA. I needed to get my sciences current (which my degree in political science was from UTA so I thought the online sciences were a great way to go..which is how all this got started in the 1st place..geez..I should have just saved my money!!) so I could apply to other colleges BUT I did really like the fast 15 months to a BSN! I have just reminded myself it's not the only route and I won't look back!

If you are partnered I bet you are accepted...stay positive! It's the non-partnered that it gets tough! :(

I will tell you my friend is an LVN and he is doing an LVN-RN bridge with Excelsior (sp) college online. You may want to look into it. It is accepted in all 50 states by the nursing boards and you can then transition to a BSN if you wanted...

Thank you for the words of encourgagement...I know you will do well in whichever path you choose...stay on this board though and keep us posted...no matter the method, you will become an RN...and we want to hear all about your journey.

I received my acceptance letter today for AP BSN !!! SoOOooo excited for January!
