  1. I recommend everyone who has an opinion about the questions on the final email our teacher & academic coach ASAP about it. That is the only way they know we disagree and they may not respond but at least they get our opinions about it.
  2. I agree about the Pharm final. I emailed the academic coach with rationale to back up my answers DIRECTLY from the book and our notes and havent heard anything back yet. Is our lowest test score or anything like that replaced or dropped in this course? I am frustrated as I have had an A the ENTIRE semester in this course and got an 85 on the final and it dropped me grade to a B. I emailed our academic coach about an explanation for the previous tests as well and have yet to hear anything. I have had a lot of online UTA classes and this has been by far the worst for communication purposes! But o well we are through it!
  3. I work with someone who did not get in first time around and was put on waiting list second time around and DID get in and is partnered with THR and has been the entire application process. I dont know about being waitlisted, partnered and not geting in but I do know people who are partnered and didnt get in.
  4. So I have been reading back through the post from yesterday and I cannot believe advisors didnt stress that being partnered is such a factor. I mean the AP in the "AP BSN" program stands for Academic "Partnership". I thought at first you had to be partnered to even apply since we apply through our education departments but when I started reading this I realized anyone could apply. I would take it up with your advisor (if they are still around) at UTA.
  5. @tejas03 - there is no contract with THR for getting into the program. If you decide to do LINC or use tuition reimbursement then you have a set amount of time you have to work for them or if you chose to leave you have to pay back your schooling. You have to stay employed through the start date of clinicals but once they start you are not required to maintain employment. Of course they would like you to but it is not something that determines you staying in the program. You do have to maintain your employment through the start of clinicals but after that you do not. However, from my experienence working in the hospital gives you such good knowledge of how things flow outside of the textbook nursing school and it helps you make connections for future job possibilities. If you want to work in critical care or a specific specialty I would HIGHLY recommend getting in with a unit and getting to know people throughout nursing school, just my opinion though! Hope this helps!
  6. I have been accepted to the AP program and I do NOT have orientation in my EPIC. Our paperwork said Orientation should open Dec 1 and must be complete by Jan 6? But who knows with the way the letters and delays and advisor issues have gone. . . they could have sent you the wrong paperwork? check and make sure the right name is on the letter ** I knowthat sounds silly but I have heard of people getting others documents with this program?
  7. @ momsboys - if you dont mind what was your overall GPA and science GPA? I cant believe so many partnered students are getting put on waitinglist as well! Fingers crossed for ya!
  8. @tejas03 you can apply for the APBSN program through your partner facility at any time once you work there. For THR you just contact the education department and they send you the application forms and then you send them back to the THR education department and they forward them on to UTA for you. You have to have you manager's approval on the forms for the application so it shows the unit's support of you going back to school so be upront in interviewing that you want to go to nursing school as you will need them to sign forms for your application. I am planning on working full time, 3 12 hour shifts a week while doing the AP program. The recommend only 20 hrs a week but for financial reasons I am going to need to stay full time to keep my benefits & my full time tuition reimbursement amounts. Let me know if you have any other questions!
  9. I am talking about the Fast Track Ap program, not the traditional in class. Sorry for confusion!
  10. @Julie1451 - my advisor told me we shoudl get somethign in EPIC learning system that has information on orientation. If it is not there or we haven't heard anything by December 1 I would just give them a call maybe? I did talk to the lady over the AP scheduling and she said that most likely clinicals will contiue to be on Saturday & Sunday & we will have proctored exams on campus on Thursday's. She was verifying if this would stay true but is pretty sure it will continue like this as they have done previous semesters. I think for background checks we just log into the website the orange piece of paper says and pay for it and have it sent to UTA. But I am not for sure as I haven't got to far on doing this just yet.
  11. i got this info from my advisor just for those who are curious! there were approximately 700 who applied but out of that not everyone is ranked. some apply and then do not complete prereq’s, don’t take the hesi… there were 402 that were ranked and considered for the program. out of that, when all is said and done, there will be 130 accepted.
  12. Way to go!! See you in January!! :)
  13. How do you guys feel about the Pharm final? You think it will be all old test questions? I am nervous!
  14. @Mckinney mom I am partnered with THR and congrats! Wait list is awesome as well! I will keep my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully since they took so long to actually get letters out maybe people who got accepted have already commited to another program and will not accept UTA and you will get called in! Best of luck! We have to have all of our responses in by Novemebr 30th if we accept so hopefully only a few more weeks you will knwo for sure.
  15. I agree with BJBAILEY1972! Keep trying I had a good friend who applied and did nto get accepted the first time but did the second time around. She is partnered and does not have a previous degree and they said that was a big hold up for her but the second time around she got in. Dont give up!!
