UTA Spring 2021 AO BSN/BSN Cohort

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Is anyone else applying this June for the Spring 2021 Cohort, either the AO BSN or the BSN?

I'm currently taking CHEM 1451 and STAT 1308. If I pass these classes all I have left are Path and Pharm. I received a B for Microbiology, so I will be retaking that I think, and most likely CHEM & STAT. I received a C for the HIST 1312 US History since 1865, I took it at UTA, if I retake it at my local community college can I ask to replace the grade? Additionally, does anyone know if an Associate's in Science counts as a previous degree?

Don't forget!

  • Check your vaccinations! Start getting them squared away now! Especially the Hep B titers.
  • If you're from outside the US and have had the BCG vaccine, you will need the T-Spot or QuantiFERON blood test (which you probably already knew).
  • TEAS should be taken no later than 4/1/2020 (per the advisor).

Application deadline is June 1st!

@Livsmadmom,

Congrats! I was hoping you got in☺️. Make sure you head over to Canvas and start that process once the course is uploaded for you. There’s a lot to do ( easy) and most of it is due tomorrow, but I’m sure they will give you an extension.

@Livsmadmom

Congrats!! That's so awesome. I am hoping after Thanksgiving break I get the call also. I don't know who else has scores around mine (8.18) but I think it's getting closer *fingers crossed*

Has anyone else gotten a call from UTA BSN advising about an “alternate program”? I just got a call this morning and they told me that I was in the next group to be called off waitlist and if I don’t get called off, I’ll have automatic acceptance to the next cohort. I’ve never heard of this program before, does anyone have any more information about this?

I was an alternate for cohort 23 and was admitted for this current cohort 24. It's a real thing.  You have to do all the things like submit immunizations/titers, blue card,  all documents required to start.  Do the canvas orientation and attend the virtual one in January. All in the hopes of starting this year.

Thank you for your response!
I have a follow up question if you don’t mind!
Does that mean you had to wait a cycle and got automatic acceptance to the following one instead? I’m curious because if I had applied to a fall cycle and they gave me this option, I would have no qualms going into Spring. But since I’ve applied for Spring and I’d have to wait a whole Spring AND Summer to start, I would rather reapply for the Summer term than wait ..

also, did you have to have your BLS before you applied for the alternate program?

sorry to bombard you with questions btw ?

It says you are guaranteed for the next cohort which would be Fall. Unless you are on campus and I think they would put you into Summer. But AO doesn't have a Summer start. You don't have to apply for the alternate program, they automatically put you into it. You need to have BLS by the January 8 date. So act like you are getting into Spring just in case.

Will it require to have BLS certificate before starting BSN program?

Thanks.

Yes, must have it upon offer to be safe. They give you more time to get it, but why not just already have it? It makes submitting documents so much easier.

Does anyone thats from DFW know anything about the best hospitals to do clinicals at? I assume the level 1 trauma centers would provide the best training but I’m flying blind here.

Hi everyone I was wondering if anyone from the Houston area had gotten in and what their stats were? I'm applynig for Spring 2022 and if they were partnered or not.

I just received a voice mail and it seems like the beginning of the message was cut off. I tried calling back but wasn’t able to get anyone to help. Has anyone received any messages of this type? I’m pasting in quotes part of the message that I actually received. “Automatic acceptance into the BSN program you will also be able to take advantage of a scholarship that will give you $250 off your first course to take advantage of this path you will need to contact us as soon as possible for details on how to switch your program please call us today”
