UTA Spring 2021 AO BSN/BSN Cohort

Published

Is anyone else applying this June for the Spring 2021 Cohort, either the AO BSN or the BSN?

I'm currently taking CHEM 1451 and STAT 1308. If I pass these classes all I have left are Path and Pharm. I received a B for Microbiology, so I will be retaking that I think, and most likely CHEM & STAT. I received a C for the HIST 1312 US History since 1865, I took it at UTA, if I retake it at my local community college can I ask to replace the grade? Additionally, does anyone know if an Associate's in Science counts as a previous degree?

Don't forget!

  • Check your vaccinations! Start getting them squared away now! Especially the Hep B titers.
  • If you're from outside the US and have had the BCG vaccine, you will need the T-Spot or QuantiFERON blood test (which you probably already knew).
  • TEAS should be taken no later than 4/1/2020 (per the advisor).

Application deadline is June 1st!

It reads to me, that you must complete it this Summer, the application semester. Definitely something to gain further insight about from an advisor.

When did they start giving that type of consideration? This application circle or the Patho/Pharm consideration has been there.

The way it was explained to me when I called is that they want them completed by the application deadline. If you’ve completed one course and were enrolled in the second course at the application deadline you would receive it. If you haven’t started the 2nd course before the application deadline then it doesn’t count. That’s how I understood it.

Oh I hope so! I’m in Patho and I will start Pharm right afterwards.

Dam! This School, you can't win with them. Always changing policies. People like us that have not finish the P/P are at huge disadvantage.

I wish I had known all this before applying-bummer. ? I had to retake Patho since I last took it in Spring 2016. Currently taking it at TTU this Summer. I was planning on taking Pharm this fall. I had to drop courses at TTU for my BA in Psych. to fulfill Patho., Pharm., and Technical Writing (sucks! TTU didn't require this course so I never took it). I really didn't want to waste ANOTHER year getting my BA to apply for TTU second-degree nursing program, but from what I'm reading here it looks like I don't have a chance at UTA AOBSN. Wish I didn't delay my BA (AGAIN!) for UTA. The advisors I talk to never explain things to me as clearly as you guys on here. Best of luck to everyone! **I'm not even partnered ? I live in LBK..smh***

It is a shame that the advisors only give partial information. It takes about 4 separate emails to get my questions answered fully, and yes I have sent in a review indicating those frustrations. You just won't get the extra consideration, but could still get in.

Good luck everyone! I unfortunately was not confident with my total points so I decided to switch and apply to the campus based program. I turned down my Baylor FastBacc seat for this so I hope it works out (also the tuition was like $100K so yea).

What were your total points?

Love the fact that you are doing everything you need to to become an RN! If I didn’t have all of the considerations I would have done the exact same thing! Good luck to you, I hope your strategy pays off!!

Hey y'all. Has anyone gotten any info back about your application? I am missing three classes (because they only gave me 2 credits for my 3 credit classes from my Bachelor's). I was in the processing of obtaining the syllabi (from 1994-1995) when Covid hit. I put in my app that I took them then and they said I have no info about them in my app and I needed to reply within 5 business days or they will remove my application. But then I read that they only answer BSN ap questions on Thursdays. My plan was if they wouldn't accept my credits I would retake at Dallas County but now I am freaking out that they won't find my return email in the next 5 days. I am sure they are overwhelmed right now with students.
