UTA RN to BSN Online Fall 2014

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Looking to locate students that will begin the online program for UTA RN to BSN online program in Fall 2014. I would like for us all to be able to communicate. I think once we can all connect it will make all of our lives MUCH less stressful!!!

you pretty much have to do it all yourself. I called an enrollment specialist to verify I had done everything correctly, though. after I applied, I received a provisional acceptance email about 4 days later. It is difficult to get in contact with them at times.

that's exactly what I'm dreading right now. I hope I don't have to take a lot more extra classes. =/

I agree, Nursndy. I sent my enrollment counselor an e-mail three times and called four times before sending him a really annoyed e-mail telling him that if he can't help me then direct me to someone who can. I've started looking into other schools because of all the prereqs they require at UTA. :/ It would honestly take me so long and cost so much money to take all the prereqs for UTA that it wouldn't be worth it to me. Right now I'm looking at George Washington. I would have to wait a year to go, but... it might be worth it if I can save a few thousand dollars (not to mention time/added stress) in prereqs. I haven't decided yet. *sigh* I wish this whole process were easier!

Here is what I have researched so far (and I mean two months of non-stop research). The cheapest program with the least amount of classes is University of Louisiana at Lafayette. If you are NOT on a time line, they may be perfect for you! Short time frame from enrollment to starting, a bit longer classes (8 wk compared to 5). 9 nursing classes. No Texas history (LOL). What am I not choosing them? TIME LINE. They do not offer two nursing classes each session. If they did, I would be there in a heart beat.

Good luck in your decision.

Are you an Excelsior Grad doing the UTA program?????????????????

Has anyone had a problem with UTA accepting their EC Anatomy and Physiology? If so, how did you handle it and what was the outcome?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Has anyone had their classes canceled or unable to get into them because they are full?

The provisional acceptance is immediate after they verify your RN license, I applied at the beginning of May and received provisional acceptance within a couple days and was told I could go ahead and register for Technical Writing and Professional A&B and hopefully start with the 6/30/14 class. Well, after reading some horror stories on here of UTA not accepting certain classes I didn't want to commit without knowing for certain so I kept waiting. I kept getting phone calls reminding me of the registration deadline and I had sent emails to the department to no avail. Once the 6/30 passed, I went ahead and registered and sure enough, within a few days of registering they did my transfer credit report.

I obtained my ADN through ACC and they missed a few things which I did have to send a very detailed email with the ACC course description and they gave me credit a few days later. Turns out the speech class I took at ACC transferred to UTA as the Technical Writing so I was able to drop that. Yay! I took my Stats class, US Government, and Art Appreciation at a community college this summer while waiting to get those out of the way.

I sent you a fb request via your email and have not heard back. I am enrolled for 8/11 and have MANY questions for my fellow students :)

In regards to Tech writing, were you able two work ahead in that class?

Also, from when you registered for your first course, how long before someone called you to answer questions?

Nobody ever called me, I took a shot and looked up my advisor and sent her an email. She responded within a couple days and then asked me to send the very detailed information about the classes they overlooked and everything was fixed within a week.

How did you find out who your advisor was?
