UTA RN to BSN Online Fall 2014

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Looking to locate students that will begin the online program for UTA RN to BSN online program in Fall 2014. I would like for us all to be able to communicate. I think once we can all connect it will make all of our lives MUCH less stressful!!!

I decided to take Technical Writing at a local community college. It's $72 per credit hour vs. UTA's $1004 per credit hour. That's a HUGE difference. BTW, the Technical Writing class isn't included in the $8995 tuition rate they quoted on their website. The $8995 only covers Nursing classes and not the electives and general education classes that you are required to take to graduate. http://academicpartnerships.uta.edu/documents/UTA_RNtoBSN_Degree_Plan.pdf

Anything NOT listed as "NURS" in the beginning is required and counts as out-of-state tuition if you don't live in Texas. Just a heads up! I'm taking as many classes locally as I can so I only have to take the NURS classes here.

Hi All!

I'm starting Professional Nursing on 8/11.

I have to take the nursing classes plus US Hist II and TX govt. Not looking forward to taking history classes ugh!!

Just got my acceptance yesterday! I have to take 27 general course credits still -_-

Specializes in Pre-hospital, ER, ICU and PACU.

I applied June 2nd and am still waiting to find out what classes I need etc. Does anyone have a male adviser with the initials C.F.? If so, can you give me some insight? He does not return my emails. I would love to find some study buddy's.

Thanks!

I don't have that advisor but I find that like others, my emails get answered with a very vague and useless response. Usually they just send me a link and don't actually give me any information. I applied late June, was accepted late July and will start on August 11, 2014. I had all of my transfer credits from my Associates be accepted, though it took a few weeks for them to review and accept. I still have to take about 9 pre-req classes, most of them are English/writing or Government. Those I plan on doubling up so I can finish asap. There are 9 Nursing classes, which accounts for the $8995 price they quote. Are you transferring over a lot?

Specializes in Pre-hospital, ER, ICU and PACU.

Kona-

I have no idea what I am transferring over.....as I have seen nothing from them saying what they will accept or not. I have an AA degree plus my CEN for them to review. I am anticipating all I need is American Lit and the Texas history classes. I am very disappointed that I wont be starting on 8/11. I guess I will be 5 weeks behind you.

What classes are you taking on 8/11? I will be interested to get your feedback on the communication during the program.

Stay in touch!

I am starting 8/11 with Technical Writing and 8/25 Professional Nursing. I've been provisionally accepted so I don't know what prerequisites I'll still need to take. but count me in as a study buddy! =P good luck to all!

How did you get "provisionally accepted"? I cant get anyone to answer the phone or speak to anyone there. I would love some help.

I have also been "provisionally accepted" and spoken with my advisor already. Here is the contact information I have used and their response is always within 24-48 hours.

I just applied and they accepted me once they verified that I have my RN license.

Does anyone know why the don't do transcript evaluations until you sign up for classes? I find this very annoying. If I sign up and then they tell me I need 9 more classes on top of my nursing classes, that won't be good! And then I'll probably go looking for another one with not so many prereqs. I mean Texas History? Really? lol
