This thread is for anyone taking Holistic health assessment on-line at UTA starting Jan 14th 2013. Hopefully we can get a good thread going in order to provide support for each other as we go. The more students who participate, the better it will be for everyone.
Wow you guys are fast with assessments man!!are you all doing the arteriole diameter to vein diameter (AV ration)?
This week took me a lot longer... It was painful.
Also, my patient is a healthy young girl....everything is normal, so that makes it easier.
I did the AV ratio, but I have no idea what it means! :) It's too late to ask my coach to explain how to figure it out, so I just put 2:3 cuz I assumed it was normal.
I am definitely not a fan of this class either, but I thought it was going to be waaaay worse. It's pretty much just copying from the book. Boring.
I also did not do well on week 2 quiz. Only 75%! It sucks that we cannot see the results and what we did wrong. I was only iffy on 2 of the questions. I think they need to review the answers.
Also, I'm taking English Lit. right now. And its the first class that I've had that has virtual office hours with the instructor. It's really cool. She is available online one a week. We can see her and hear her, and we type in our questions and she answers them live!!!!
That's really something they should consider for this class.
Ok, i officially hate this class. my husband is going out of town for work so i had to cram a lot of things in this week. did week 3 stuff on sat and week 4 on mon....but writing it all up is taking a long long long long time. not anywhere near completion, but at least i have the inspections, palpations, auscultations, and percussions done. but, it is the writing portion that is the killer. have to work fri, sat, and sun, so can't use those days for much.i've done nothing but class work every day this week. woke up in the middle of the night w/ pain in my right arm, at the elbow, due to remaining in the typing position for too many hours, i think. i could write a coldspa for myself
for current onset of pain.
thanks everyone for contributing to this forum. i check in frequently. helps to know there are others who are going through the same thing as i am.
Did you alrady turn in weeks 3 and 4? Week 2 took me 7 hours per subjective and objective! And, I had wrist surgery 2 years ago that still makes my hand cramp soooo bad! I need a voice activated computer for this class!
Or a nursing diagnosis of pain rt this class!
This forum is really helping me too!

There were some tricky questions in there! I just hate how the time goes by so fast! I need more time to look up the answers, lol! I too got a 75%, scarry! I sucked at the quizes in Professional nursing A and B and still pulled an A in that course! Just have to get great grades on our sub and obj and DQ's!
Neonursej,
no, no, i didn't turn in week 3 or 4 yet. i won't do that until the week they are actually due. i'm just trying to get a little ahead because my client is my husband and he won't be around much over the next 2 weeks. i did get all the assessments done, but not completely written up in the final form, yet. it usually takes all day to do that.
TxmonciWord your subjective with denies pain or complains of pain to blah blah
For objective use the wording inspect, auscultate, palpate blah blah
Hope that helps
:)
My objective was fine it was the subjective. I did put that kind of stuff it all was pretty much pt stated....pt stated...and still wrong:unsure: I followed the book to a T and the rubric

Am I the only one not getting 100% on my assignments?
I got a 90% and a 95%
I guess I don't understand "narrative form"
Also my first quiz was 85
but the second was baaaad 65:(
Maybe because I was rushing? I could have sworn I had them mostly right though!!!
I don't know what I was thinking taking on this classes with a full time job.. Any suggestions
