UTA FALL 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

Post away!

Great Job, MEGREEN! I am soooo jealous:) I hope Parkland starts pulling people from the waitlist - I don't know of anyone who has gotten called yet for Parkland.

So exciting for you!

Specializes in NICU Nurse.

Way to go MEGREEN! Congrats!!!

Thanks guys!!! I am super excited!! I have tons of stuff to get taken care of by July 4th.... !!!

We are supposed to be getting clinical assignments next Wednesday. I was told that they Would be calling a few more students before then and would be done calling wait listed students. I'm not sure if this 100% accurate just wanted tory you guys know something.... Still hoping and praying for of y'all still waiting!!!

Are you talking about the AP program? Hope some more of us on here will get called!!

Well, I got called yesterday for the AP program even though I was denied for it....however, it was for two spots at distance partnerships. One was with San Antonio, totally out of the question for me, and the other was for Good Shepherd in Longview (2hr) away from me. She said clinicals for Fall would be on Mondays and Tuesdays, and beyond that she does not know if those days would change or not. I was so excited to get the call but now torn on what to do because of the distance! What would you guys do? I am employed with Parkland now and applied for Spring but of course there are people on here who were employed with a partner hospital and still didn't get in, just waitlisted. So, waiting for Spring would be a gamble. I am so confused!!!!!

Do you think you will be more competitive in spring? If so, if I were you I would wait..

i bet she is talking about ap. that is the program that i am in. it is so hard to say what to do rubyred...i would probably do it. 2 hours isn't too bad... when i have to commute anywhere i always download my recorded lectures onto my phone and listen to them in my car...that would be a great chance to do that!

Yay!!! Great job. @MEGREEN

Tough call but being partnered should make you more competitive.

To be honest I don't think being partnered helps that much... I barley made it in and I have better grades then some people that got in Unpartnered.... It all depends on who your against at your job and how many spots they have!

Well made the difficult decision today to pass on the offer for Good Shepherd. It is just too far away for me. I am married and have two young children so I just don't think it could work. The dean did tell me over the phone though that my chances for Spring entry into the AP program were really good considering my GPA and that I am employed with Parkland. I hope that is true!
