  1. I will be starting in October '14. It would be great to know some of my classmates.
  2. I graduated with my BSN in December and entered into a RN Fellowship in February. It is a 6 month program so I am almost done. I love it. It is different from the RN internship that the hospital offers because the RN Fellowship is longer and no contract is required. The pay is less but the experience, training, and certification trainings are great. The RN Fellowship is offered in several different specialities and locations as it is offered by a huge hospital system. At the end you maybe offered employment, but if not you do have a legitimate 6 months of hospital experience that can go on your resume. However most of us have already signed offer letters as our program ends in a month. I think it's great because as a new nurse I do not want to sharpen my skills and get to know a new staff. Residencies are a great way to build new nurse confidence and increase retention.
  3. Tough call but being partnered should make you more competitive.
  4. Yay!!! Great job. @MEGREEN
  5. WGU is online it takes 2 years to complete the BSN. You pay by semester and not credit hour.
  6. I looked at different options once I was waitlisted I applied to San Jacinto College for their ADN program, Chamberlain College of Nursing which is a one year online program to in Houston, and WGU has an online BSN program that takes about 2 years. They actually have a class starting September 1 and the deadline is July 15th. The program at WGU requires letters of recommendation but those don't have to come from a professor, a resume, personal statement, and transcripts. The only difference is WGU requires the TEAS test.
  7. Thanks @tah0009 and @rubyredd83.
  8. Brazosport Memorial Hospital near Houston. I live in Houston but I started the pre-reqs when I still lived in Arlington.
  9. So grateful...Praise God!!!
  10. They said I would receive it today or Monday. They partnered me with Brazosport which is Southeast of Houston. It is a little bit of a drive but I don't care. I am really blessed to have gotten in because the odds of getting in unpartnered are low especially if you're not in Dallas.
  11. I have been called off the waitlist. I missed my call so I got an email to call in because my voicemail was full. I think there is a excel spreadsheet that was created for everyone's stats. My science GPA was 3.5 for the required sciences and my overall pre-requisite GPA around 3.7 or so. I took some classes online at UT-Arlington and I do have a previous degree.
  12. Sorry I can't respond to messages because I don't have enough points. The Spring 2013 sites are HCA Clear Lake and North Cypress Hospital
  13. I think I'm trying to do just the opposite. Moving from Arlington to Houston.
  14. I started my pre-reqs at UT-Arlington and moved back to Houston in the middle. If I don't get into UT-Arlington this Fall I will apply for UT-HSC too.
  15. They have a clinical site in Houston and in San Antonio. After I got waitlisted I asked my advisor what I could do to increase my chances and she sent me a list of partnered hospitals. In Houston the partnered hospitals are different for the fall and spring but there are 2 hospitals per semester.
