Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

I noticed there is no thread for those of us that will be applying to UTA On campus BSN program for Fall of 2017. Feel free to reply to this post if you are considering applying so we can keep in touch.

I have applied for AO BSN at UTA for Fall 2017. I can't believe we have to wait until APRIL to find out. :(

I have a 4.0 in all courses including Sciences.

I have zero considerations, so even though my grades are good I worry that it's not enough!

I haven't looked at the syllabus yet! So maybe that is why I'm not freaking out lol but yes all 3 at once! Intro is only 5 weeks so my main concern would be patho and pharm. I read a lot of people taking those classes together last year and they said it's doeable! I'll see how much I survive afterwards

@Chloethekat I'm not sure why but it isn't showing when I'm trying to reply to just one person :(

Anyway, I bought my used book from Amazon too for $65. It looks brand new and I haven't gone through it yet but will now that you tell me it might have missing pages/chapters. I've looked through her syllabus and I don't see anywhere that the access card is used. I'm going to take the chance and not buy it until I know I need it. I believe our grade is based off of the 5 online quizzes and 4 exams so I'm not sure why we need the access card other than to study, I guess.

I've been having the same issue when I've been trying to reply to one person! So now I'm just using that "quote" feature.

But yes, I think you're correct about our grade so you should be fine. But yeah I'd definitely recommend checking to make sure you have all the chapters lol

Her syllabus was hella long & wordy though so I've been going through it & re-formatting some to make it easier to re-skim throughout the semester so I don't forget any of her rules (cause there are a LOT). I've also been highlighting important dates in the calendar in different colors so they stick out! So far she seems super intense, but I guess she'll definitely prepare us for nursing school!

That is the LONGEST syllabus I've ever seen, lol! Are you taking it on campus this semester? I'll be taking it on Mondays at 1p. I'm saving Intro for Summer I since I'm taking technical writing too (at TCC) and I've heard pharm is a beast!

No I'm taking it online :/ I'm currently signed up for all 3 (Pharm, Intro, & T.W.), but after I saw the financial breakdown I'm kinda considering dropping Technical Writing for now & saving it & Pathophysiology for this summer until I see if I even get into the nursing program or not lol

Where did you find the syllabus? Is it on Mymav? or Blackboard??

It's in Blackboard.

I'm saving Intro for summer in case I don't get in. I believe I can transfer pharm and patho to other universities but I don't think others require Intro.

How many classes will y'all be taking in the summer? I am thinking of taking intro to nursing, medical terminology and sociology!

I'm only taking Intro in the summer. However, if I don't get accepted, I might just save it for the fall.

I was gonna do the same thing, but I've actually found quite a few that do so I decided to just take it now
