UTA FALL 2017-On campus Bsn program

Published

I noticed there is no thread for those of us that will be applying to UTA On campus BSN program for Fall of 2017. Feel free to reply to this post if you are considering applying so we can keep in touch.

I'll be applying as soon as I take my HESI (taking it in the morning)! What is everyone's GPA/science GPA heading in? Do you have any considerations? I've found it's been helpful to go over accepted GPAs from previous semesters so maybe we can help future applicants by comparing.

General GPA: 3.83

Science GPA: 3.33

Considerations: 1, since they got rid of the honors program

I see that some of y'all are still taking pre-reqs - if you have a chance to still choose professors, here's who I suggest:

Tech Writing: Ann Sloan is okay - she is a little confusing but extremely caring and understanding. If you have problems with English, however, I'd suggest taking a different professor.

Intro to Socio: Definitely take Kalanzi. She's amazing. She does take attendance, but it factors in as extra credit.

I heard they changed some aspects of Intro to Nursing since I took it last year, but in general, I would study the textbook for the RATs and plan out time for the portfolio. Otherwise, it isn't very bad!

Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone! I will have applied for both the Fall 2017 on campus, and Accelerated BSN program. I already have a BSN in nutrition, but am really excited to do nursing. I will be taking intro to nursing and med terms this spring, and just waiting to hear if I will be accepted. I wish everyone the best of luck, and hopefully we will all get in.

I applied for fall 2017 both on campus and off. My GPA is 3.25 and Science GPA is 3.0

I took Intro at UTA last semester and this semester I will take patho, pharm. and elective at UTA. I assume those count as credits a t UTA??

I have no other considerations. I thinking about getting a job at a partnered hosp since my GPA is not so great to hopefully increase my chances of getting in.

For the upper level elective question on the applications, is it just any upper level at all?? 3000/4000 course??

Yes it should be any upper level course, that doesn't count towards the pre-reqs. My advisor ended up taking a 3000 ethics course that I took getting my first degree.

Thank you! I was nervous, I also have a previous degree so I had so many to choose from then I didn't know if they wanted it related to nursing or not. My app is done but I feel sooo nervous to submit! Lol

No, as1delga

Its only nursing upper division elective. Medical Term, or Legacy of Family

I have medical term from a different school but it is a 2000 level course... how do we take upper level nursing courses if we are not accepted into the program? I am not too sure how to fill that part of the app out.

Just checked my "mock degree plan on MyMAV" so it is NURS 3309 medical terminology they want me to take" okay I'll register for that too, I should hopefully make an A since I got a good foundation in med term from taking sophomore level one. THANK YOU bsnchrisrn

Yes, it has to be 3000 or 4000... In the Application, just put in what semester you are going to take it, and where

In the application can you just put upper division nursing elective? Or do you have to put the code of the course such as NURS 3309
