UT Tyler nursing spring

Published

Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.

I am currently reviewing the syllabus for the three classes now. I am thinking maybe we should read the first chapters at least for day1?

You are acc right? Concepts is pretty easy lots of reading honestly I skimmed and hardly read anything and still got an A.. Patho STAY ON TOP of it.. Lots of info to learn... and I am new to pharmacology too.. Good Luck.

Ok, I don't understand. I was sold the "packaged box" that is supposed to have all the textbooks I need and yet there is NO PATHOPHYSIOLOGY BOOK!? (sigh) Man, this is frustrating. I cannot even resolve this until Monday- the first class day. I should have checked this earlier.

Yes that package is for the traditional nursing program (does not include patho or concepts) they were talking about making a catered package for accelerated but I guess they did not..

Did anyone figure out what the *?#$ classes and books we need? Does anyone have anything definitivie here??? I am frustrated... I assumed the classes that I was approved for with codes were correct, but my textbooks say otherwise. UGGH!

Wow. So our information packet that says "for our convenience... blah blah single box... blah" is for traditional only. So now I have to go Monday and return this box and hope that I can find the books that I need... excellent. Worse, I cannot find my receipt so maybe they will stick me with the $900 bill to boot.

I am pretty sure You still need the box... it has all the books for the program plus the Sims chart.. but you also need patho and concepts

Wow, are you serious?! That will surely put me over the $GRAND mark. But, if I still need the other books later on then I suppose it isn't all too bad. I just feel ill prepared to walk into class on Monday without my Patho text.

Thanks for your help, Rexjackiec!

I took my Teas V test today, I made 92 on math, and with the reading, I didn't finish so ended up with 70.8. I am worried now, I think I may not get in with these scores. My scores were math 92, reading 70.8, life science 88.2, and grammar and language usage 86. 4. UT Tyler requires just the reading (72%) and math (64%). I passed math but did not pass english. Am so scared I may not get in. Did anyone get in with scores less than what they require?

I know a girl that was accepted this semester that did not pass the reading part..kind of shocked me.. I thought you had to pass to get accepted but I guess if you have really good grades....

I do have good grades(3.8 GPA) though, thanks for the reply. Am applying for both ut tyler and Midwestern State University. I hope I get into at least one. Good on your first semester. Am taking pathophysiology and nursing concepts on the Tyler campus thus spring. All the best.

You don't have anything to worry. My Teas V scores where not the best. That test is not the only thing they consider when they are looking at your application . I'm sure you are going to be accepted. Just try to get As on your classes this semester .
