Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.
Today I stopped by UT bookstore....I had to find out what in the world was in the $875 "box" of books. The lady in the bookstore said that the "box" would get us through most of the nursing program. She said there would be a book to buy here and there but for the most part everything was packaged to complete the program. She then proceeded to tell me that I should wait before I purchased. The reason being, she had been advised by the nursing dept that they might be putting a package together for the ABSN group. Apparently, the books listed on the website are for the traditional program. Just wanted to pass along the word. I'm going to wait awhile before purchasing and see if they change anything. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey I'm just stopping by to check in on yall. I heard from a traditional student that yall are going to have to buy the box set either online or hard copies. If you don't have to buy it then do not buy it. My roommate saved tons buying the books by themselves on amazon. I also heard yall are going to have to go through Sim Chart, I hate sim chart, I'm just going to apologize before hand for that.
Side note earlier when I talked about jobs. It is definitely possible to get a job out side of Tyler after you graduate. I've just accepted one in Houston. You just have to start early in job hunting. I started in September, some places have their applications up for 3 days thats it. but it is possible!
Also, if yall are on campus Dec 2nd you're welcomed to come to the end of the year NSNA meeting in the nursing building. Its pretty much a party, bring a gift ( pm me if you need the room number.
Does anybody know what will happen if I make a C in my micro class? Like will they let me take it again in the spring before actual nursing starts to get a B? Ugh, I got stuck with a first time professor and my class has been a total nightmare.
lmkea, I seriously don't know. I thought a 'C' is passing isn't it? You are already in the program so I don't know why this would be a factor? Maybe I am missing something...
Regards,
LW
