UT Tyler nursing spring

Published

Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.

Is there a way we can find out the books we are supposed to buy. Again, what three classes will we be taking in the Spring. There seems to be a discrepancy between the letter we had and what is stated on the website.

Apart from the naming, I do not see a discrepancy:

NURS3205 (Intro to Prof. Nursing/Concepts and Theories), NURS3303 (Patho), NURS3307 (Pharm)

LW, In our letter, it states Pharmacology, Nursing Concepts, and Health Assessment

Oh, you mean the original letter not the one we just received via email!

Yes, the original states:

N3307 Pharmacology

N3603 Nursing Competencies

N3310 Health Assessment

While the most recent states:

N3205 Concepts & Theories

N3303 Pathophysiology

N3307 Pharmacology

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the latter simply because it is more recent information. Did any of you contact the nursing college and ask them? If you find out, please post it promptly to alert others here.

Regards,

LW

Has anyone that was accepted into the traditional program been able to register?

They were delayed in getting us into the computer but everything is fixed now that I am aware of...

Everyone seems to be from Accelerated.. I got into the traditional program! It seems like only 4 or 5 people are from traditional on here! I wonder if they give you a list of all the books you need so you could buy them separately...? And I'm really nervous about reading this thread.. Apparently there are 600 students in the nursing program (Thats what Terri said in her email).. but only 35 in level 4... that seems pretty scary.

I am thinking that it is all student! I am in traditional and I think we will find out what books we need tomorrow..

LW.. the first set is what the traditional students have to take..

Does anyone know if we can have ANY color stethoscope? I have one already but it's a very bright color??..

Rexjackiec,

That may be true, but our ABSN packet has those classes listed as well. My guess is somebody copied the classes required for traditional track to the accelerated track assuming they were the same... or... something.

I haven't registered for classes, bought books, or the nursing supplies/equipment. So I don't know if there are restrictions for color... I still have not received an email regarding fingerprinting/background check. Where are you all in the document process???

And where in the world is everyone??? :(

I still seem to have a hold and I turned in all my paper work last thursday. Guess the wait continues.

I have everything but my cpr.. I had a previous background check so I got to avoid that whole mess!

I was not able to register for my classes until late yesterday. I know they were having problems with getting everyone listed as a "nursing major" so chennaultc091 I would contact Terrie and let her know, she has been amazing to me!!

All done with my paperwork and CPR, just waiting to do the background check! Does anyone know if we have to have specific shoes?? I already have royal blue scrubs (from my mom), stethoscope and hemostat. Haven't heard of any restrictions regarding color!
