UT Tyler BSN Fall 2017

Hello Guys!! I recently applied to the Accelerated BSN at UT Tyler and do not get accepted so I am going to try for the tradition BSN fall 2017. Is anybody in the same boat or just applying to the tradition BSN?

If you were selected as an alternate would you have received a different letter other than a denial?

Not sure. There are old posts from previous years where some received rejection letters then later were sent offers. People drop out, reject the offer and flunk the prereqs. Anything can happen.

Kchamb, I just asked one of my friends from 2 years ago that was picked as an alternate and she said her email that she got didn't say she was denied or accepted all it said was the class was full at the current time. 2 weeks later she got email saying that there was an opening.

Oh! Thanks for the info. I'm hoping I just applied too soon seems like everyone accepted is already taking patho and concepts

I'm taking concepts now (getting an A thus far) and already took Patho at another school, also received an A, Teas score 89 , GPA in the high 80's only because I took the CLEP exam for several classes. I was rejected so that tells me this semester was highly competitive.

i know they prefer for concepts and patho to be taken at uttyler, i mean it was worth 10 points on application if you did

Oh yeah I recall seeing that know the application. I feel like the class would be the same regardless of where it was taken.

Patho is 10 point wherever it's taken. And I talked to an advisor today that said my GPA is unaffected by my CLEP exams. So .my GPA is 3.8

Did the advisor have any suggestions for you? I feel like your stats are really good and I am not sure what you could do different or why you didn't get in.

No she gave me nof advice just said there must have been a lot of 4.0 this semester.... I also asked if I would be put on a waiting list and she said that as far as she knows this is it, that there is no waiting list. I know that is definitely not true ...some people take other offers ect... I'm just very disappointed because I only applied to Tyler.

There has to be a list. The acceptance letter even said if you do respond to accept or deny by a certain date your name will be removed from the list to give other applicants the opportunity to attend.
