UT Tyler BSN Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello Guys!! I recently applied to the accelerated BSN at UT Tyler and do not get accepted so I am going to try for the tradition BSN fall 2017. Is anybody in the same boat or just applying to the tradition BSN?

What do you think about your video? Do you think it was good enough? I kinda have the same stats, 3.8 GPA, TEAS 89, 81 points before the video, and I got accepted, except that I'm taking Patho (A) and Concept (A) with the school right now, and I transferred from community college.

I thought my video was on point but that's subjective.

Congrats to everyone that was accepted! I applied for the Tyler campus & got my acceptance letter on March 27, which caught me by surprise since Mrs. Johnson said we should expect it in the next 2 weeks!

For anyone that didn't get accepted into the Tyler campus, I have friends that applied in the Fall for (only) the Tyler campus and ended up being accepted into the Palestine/Longview campuses. Given that now they only allow us to apply to one program, rather than 2, I'm not sure how it will work. But this is just some insight that if the other campuses still have room for more students, they will probably review people that did not get accepted to the Main campus. I would contact those campuses and see how that works if you are interested.

The advisor told me that they actually don't do that anymore because they've started getting too many applicants at all campuses. I heard that this year they got a 170ish applicants for Longview and only picked 35. I'm not sure if that's true though. The first time I applied you could pick one campus and then another as a secondary but this time you couldn't do that so I called an asked the advisor and that's what I was told. Maybe since they have had such an increase will start expanding and so they can accept more within the next few years. Who knows though they may decide to take more since they have had so many applicants and call some of those on the waitlist.

Is anyone looking for a roommate for UT Tyler starting in the fall or know of anyone in search? I am trying to find an apartment in a reasonable range!! Anything would be helpful!

Is there anyone else in here going to UT longview campus?

Does anyone have any idea on when we should start seeing the BON notices come through for either pass/fail?

I want to say we were told midsummer but I could be wrong.

That's interesting. I planned to take one class per day since I'm also trying to work a schedule that's friendly to my employer. However, I'm going to play around with stacking classes in morning and evenings.

Have you met with the advisor yet? I only ask because i didnt realize this but she has to register you for classes the first semester. I had my meeting a couple weeks ago and made my schedule. I have 1, 3 hour class on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Those 3 days those classes are only available on those days either morning or afternoon. Then I have my clinicals on Thursday and that is 8 hours. You can pick wednesday, thursday or Friday clinicals that after 6 weeks, when we actually start go to the hospital and it changes time. She said the wednesday clinic turn into Saturday clinicals and Thursday and Friday are still Thursday and Friday just 2 hours earlier. She did say that the Thursday one was almost full. Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more.
