UT Southwestern Fall 2013 Internship

Published

I am curious if anyone on here has been accepted to the October internship? I have and am trying to find out as much as I can! I cannot wait to start and meet everyone in my internship class :)

I applied. But I failed their personality/whatever-test-that-was-they-emailed us. I didn't even know that was possible. Lol

I really dislike those online personality tests!

@kevsgirl, I'm starting the UTSW internship in October too! I got hired on the Cardiac Step-down unit. Where are you going to be?

@cass1320: Congratulations! I was in a Cardiac Step down for 10 weeks over the summer and it is fun! You will see and learn SO much! I am going to be in one of the ICU's! We will be in classes together I think :)

Yeah. They are pretty dumb/pointless/outdated. But there is so much opportunity out here in the metroplex I haven't started sweating it yet :)

Hi! I have been accepted to the October internship, and I am so excited! I will be working on the med-surg/step down unit. It is the transplant unit. Does anyone have more information on the schedule of the internship??

Congrats! I know that for ICU, I have a 3 month orientation and then have to sign a 2 year "commitment" (contract) to work for UT Southwestern. That is all that I know right now!

Same here! I just want to know all of the little details haha...benefits, scrubs, schedule, etc.! Guess I can relax and study for the NCLEX until then :)

I got a benefits summary when I went for my interview! They have pretty awesome benefits! The scrubs are all the same (even for respiratory therapists). They are the dark blue color and are embroidered with UT Southwestern logo on them. I am unsure where to buy them though!

I am studying for the NCLEX as well. I am starting to lose steam. Fortunately I am taking the test September 11! :)

Oh really?! Did they give you a paper copy of the summary? I didn't get that, but I think she briefly reviewed them with me! Awesome, hopefully they will give us info on where to get the scrubs embroidered :) I'm trying to balance the fun stuff (scrub shopping) with the not so fun stuff (studying). Did you do a review? I did Hurst and I've been studying that for awhile. Haven't gotten my AT&T yet, but I'm planning on taking mine on the 16th! Good luck!!!
