Congratulations! You and your family must be so excited right?! I just finished up my first year at a BSN school in San Antonio- and trust me... buy your books today, speak to teachers and get to it! Because it's ALOT of busy bee work and READING. Refresh on A & P; even redo the study guides and flash cards. If you had a true "calling" (you will know) to nursing you will succeed.
by the way; there are some real pessies ( negative people ) on this message board...

Waz up! waz up! waz up! !!! How is everyone?? Ive been busy being laaaazy with my girls for once in a few years (tee hee hee)!! This is the first in a long while I havent been in school...Still workin though but its still a MAJOR relief without school in the evenings.
Ive finally got most (90%) of my paperwork in for school. Financial aid and reserved garage parking were my biggest worry but those are done and out of the way. Now Im just waitin to register on July 10th so I can finish loan applications...I think Im gonna go buy other supplies soon-not sure yet.
Im fixin to go on vacation soon...then Ill just be sittin around waitin to register and then countin the days til I quit work ( ) and go on to orientation....and then the big day at the end of August !!
What are yall up to?

yeah...same here. got both letters, but with the programs in the middle of the day like that, there's just no way. it's a shame they don't offer an evenings version for those of us who have to work.
anyone start buying uniforms or supplies yet?

hi everyone!! i will also be going to UT this fall... i havent completed all the paperwork yet and am still deciding on how to get to school... are ya'll going to park in the garages w/ contractual parking? does any one know how much those are and which garage offers them?? how come i havent received anything about a july 10th registration??
i'm gonna do the metro upass thing. save $. to be fair though, i live inside the loop, so it's like a 10 minute bus ride for me.... the parking situ in the med ctr is nuts. just completely nuts.
sunkiss, you should have gotten something in the mail on yellow paper, that says "mark your calendars" and has info regarding the scholarship application deadline, registration (july 10-august 25), and orientation (aug 25). if you didn't, no big deal, as they are sending out registration packets at the end of this month.
try this link for the parking info...
http://ae.uth.tmc.edu/parking/studentinfo.htm
the cost runs from $85-$100 a month. There are unassigned reserved spots "somewhere" in the garages and then there are reserved/numberd on a specific floor of the garages...
nice to meet all of you! i haven't bought my scrubs etc. yet. do we have to buy a certain brand or is it just "navy". what about shoes? navy clogs ok or do they have to be white? are we supposed to wear everyday or just clinicals? i'm debating on whether to get poly/cotton or just cotton. i wear the poly/cotton blend now and they don't feel too great in 90 degree weather waiting for the bus!! they are HOT!!! and not in a i'm-so-sexy-in-my-scrubs kind of way. i can't believe i haven't sweat off about 20 pounds since may. then again, they don't need to be ironed and they won't fade as quickly. any thoughts?
as far as upass goes...it's great! i think it's $55 for 6 months. my house is right off the #2 bus route, so it works out well. anyone needs any help navigating that crazy public transportation...let me know...i've gotten pretty good at it! you will definitely get some good stories while riding. for some reason, i always sit next to the violent schizophrenics (his words, not mine)...but that's another story. can't wait to meet all of you - i have a feeling we'll all be like war buddies by the time this is over.
does anyone know ANYTHING about financial aid? it seems too easy. definitely not my experience at previous school...maybe were just moving up in the world, huh?
