UT-Houston!

Published

Hello! I just wanted to start a thread where those who will be attending UT-Houston this fall can get to know each other before school starts :) Hope yall are enjoying your summer!!

Recent grad of UT Houston. Was just wondering what the CANDO program is since there was no such thing when I attended.

For those of you who will not be able to attend FOCUS, don't worry. You will not be put at a disadvantage, the program is designed with time for you to learn all of the material presented in FOCUS. Attending FOCUS was great for me because I just couldn't wait to get into things and I THOUGHT I would be at an advantage. It was within the first few days that I found out that FOCUS was created to solve the delima of too many students and not enough lab space to put all the students in simultaneously.

Good luck to all of you and feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

wondering if you knew if we were allowed to use pda's and if so, what kinds?

PDAs of any kind are allowed, I had several friends that loved them and lived on them (especially in clinicals)

Congratulations on all of you getting into UT--I hope I am one of ya in about a year. If I could bug you guys with a simple question. For your science GPA, did they average your psych and sociologies, etc. with the hardcore stuff (chem, micro a&P)? I wasnt sure how they did this.,. If anyone knows, please let me know!! Thank you!

Hi Amy! Thank you and I hope you're one of us in about a year, too! Your science gpa only consists of A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, Chemistry, and Nutrition. I believe that's what it is. If you have any more questions about the admission process or prerequisites, please feel free to ask..hopefully me or someone else can help ya out! Have a great day!

Hi Guys...DO NOT pay to park in the garages. You can park in the South extension lot for a max of six bucks a day. After the first few weeks of each semester, you are not on campus five days a week and you will save alot of money. Trust me, all of us paid to park and then cancelled our parking passes. Hope this helps. PS. I am a senior at UT-H.

Where exactly is that located?

The South Extension Lot is located on William C. Harwin Blvd. It is just off of Braeswood. The White bus will take you from the lot directly to the school. You will learn that the walk is not too far and you can just huff it. E-mail me if you have any other questions.

You are awesome (your redheaded friend)

The Metro U pass is very convenient but we just got an e-mail that they may not be doing it anymore. We will know more by July 20th. I hope they do keep it b/c it was only $60 for one year.

Congrats to all who have been accepted :balloons:
