UT Houston 2011 summer accelerated program

Published

Hey guys,

Just wanted to reach out to those applying for the summer 2011 semester. Does anybody know when we should be expecting interview letters?

I'm so excited!!!! I just received an email letting me know I had been accepted=) I had started to lose hope but apparently they're still accepting folks. So for those of you still waiting don't lose hope!

Congrats feistyaggie! We have a fb page, so join and you can look at admissions documents before you get them in the mail. There is a scholarship application that is due April 9th if you want to apply. Are you located in CS and planning on commuting or are you going to relocate?

Brandig07 thanks so much for the heads up on the scholarship app! And I actually already live in the Houston. I graduated from A&M in 06. I'm so excited I can't wait to meet all of ya'll=)

I'm 06 too! I asked because I'm going to commute from

CS (nuts, I know!) but there are some people looking for roomates too. I'm not sure if they added it to your email, but along with your letter of intent you will need to send in a $50 registration deposit. Can't wait to meet you!

Nope they sure didn't say anything about a $50 fee thanks for letting me know! It's nice to know I'll have a fellow Aggie with me on campus!

Yeah they failed to tell us in March too... I would have thought that they learned! I think there might be quite a few of us Ags too!

Yay! Congrats feistyaggie and all who got in! I can't wait to meet everyone in just a couple short months! (feistyaggie and brandig07, does it count that I have an aggie in the family? Lol. I'm a Red Raider though.)

Hi everyone! I am an aggie as well.. Does anyone have any suggestions for housing? They told me its hard to get into housing through the school. Also what is the name of the facebook group?

I am currently looking for a roommate. Have you had any luck with housing?

Hello nicole11 & thedutchess12!

I've been accepted for the traditional program that starts in August, and have also been looking at housing in the med center. I know this isn't really specific, but I've just been looking at apartments using rent.com -- I search specifically for apartments in the medical center/museum district. The site's pretty useful because it has a google map of the apartment location on every apartment page, so you can figure out what's close to the Metro rail line/SON from that. If I can remember correctly, two of the apartments located on the Metro rail line are the Lanesborough apts. and the Greenbriar apts.; both seem pretty decent, and are reasonably priced for the area.

**That is, if y'all are looking for apartments on the rail line in order to avoid commuting. Of course, there are several apartments not located on the rail line that are nice, too.
