UT Health Science - San Antonio Spring 2018

Published

Anyone else applying?

I have three more prereq's to complete this summer (Texas Gvt, Chem II, Music Appreciation), but I'll have them done by early July, so I'll be good for the August 1 deadline.

My current stats:

Overall GPA: 3.72

Science/Math GPA: 3.68

TEAS VI: 82.7

I'm starting to get pretty nervous. I have SAC as a back up school, too. I'd rather not get an Associate's, but I will.

Do any of y'all know if UTHSCSA calculates our math and science gpa themselves? I noticed that nursingcas included 2 nonrequired classes by them in my gpa and that is psyching me out bc it lowers it a bit!

NursingCAS uses all your grades for your cumulative GPA (which UT will also do), but they don't calculate the math/science GPA.

Ohh I see, so my math and science will be calculated by UT only including the required ones, regardless of what nursingcas has my math and science individually as?

Are you referring to the natural science gpa listed on the application?

Yes. It lists a math gpa (which includes a math class not required by the program) and same with the natural science gpa, includes a science class not required by the program. So my fear is that they'll just use it as is instead of going back and averaging only what they require

Yeah, the school will calculate your math/science GPA based on the classes listed on their pre-req's. They don't use NursingCAS for that.

Does anyone know when they usually start sending out the first round of emails?

I was reading last semester's thread and it looked like about a week or so after submission there was a "we got your application" email.

If you're talking about acceptance letters, 4-6 weeks was what I was told.

I've tried to plan a lot of fun things for this month to distract myself, but it's not working.

Has anyone gotten a "we got your application" email from the school yet?

Has anyone gotten a "we got your application" email from the school yet?

Nope. Hoping to hear something soon.

ok im tired of waiting .. am I in yet :(

To distract myself, I keep shopping. This is not good for my bank account - though it's super fun. I just want to know that my application is there. Maybe they don't do that though.

I know exactly how you feel. I haven't received anything as far as "we got your application". I don't believe we are going to receive anything other than a denial or acceptance letter. Just take comfort in the fact we all submitted the application through NURSINGCAS and no one has gotten an email so chances are we all didn't mess the app up.
