UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

YAY! Emjay! Look forward to seeing you at UT in a couple of months ;)

Thank-you Stephanie! I found you on instagram and added you!

Hi yall, Im just trying to wrap my mind around the selection process. I have not received an acceptance or denial (but I kinda know what that means). To the ones who received their acceptances yesterday (congratulations)- were any of yall still in process of completing any prerequisites or are you completely done? Just wondering if that was a factor in their decision-making processes? Me, personally, I was finishing up 4 pre-reqs. With all of those being complete by December, if I dont get accepted, I have no idea what I am going to do with my time next semester? lol

I'm currently taking SIX pre reqs and will be done in December just in time to start at UH. Not sure if that goes into consideration when they decide though?

Awesome! I'll check it out and add you, too! :)

I have been accepted and am currently in the process of completing microbiology and dev psychology so I guess it's not a factor

I am in the middle of finishing my chemistry prereq. I was rejected from UT Health the first time I applied. I'm convinced it's possibly a lottery.

Is your remaining class showing up under your To Do list? I was accepted for admission but I'm trying to figure out if they've accepted all of my pre-reqs... no classes are showing up under the To Do list for me, although I do have the immunization hold on my account.

I have nothing on my end. I paid the deposit and received a confirmation email of the payment but it still shows I still need to pay the deposit on my UTH account. I have nothing so far except it asking me to send my transcripts.

Hi, answering your question:

I'm finishing up my last pre-req (AP2). I had 4.0s for nursing pre-reqs and science GPAs, BUT when I received my transcript evaluation, it showed that 5 classes that I took the CLEP for were not awarded credit and showed as not fulfilled. I emailed them and rushed them both an electronic transcript and a paper transcript that had my CLEP credits on them. After finding out I was accepted yesterday, I called this morning to make sure my requirements are all completed other than my current AP2 class. WELL, it turns out that they didn't receive either of my 2 transcripts. Not sure why I keep having such bad luck with transcripts lol. I don't want to say no to HBU and accept UTH without being absolutely sure my requirements will be met, so I went today in person to get a sealed transcript and then hand-deliver it to UTH's Office of the Registrar. She processed it right away and showed me that I'm good now (whew).

So, I only have one class in progress, but I guess on their records I had been short 6 class credits. I was accepted. I think maybe they weigh HESI heavily (I had a 98 overall). I also have a ton of credits from 2 previous degrees where my cumulative GPA was a 3.72 or something. Not sure what exactly it was, but I don't think having pre-reqs in progress affects the decision too much based on my experience. It's my first time applying.

Oh, and for anyone that is accepting, I highly recommend you call or visit the Registrar's office to make sure all your requirements are in (unless you already got a transcript evaluation with no issues). If you didn't receive an eval, I'd definitely call first. I had read on previous threads about people who accepted with UTH and never got an eval, but then found out they didn't have certain credits that they needed, and it was too late to register for those classes to finish before January deadline.

Does anyone who received an acceptance email have a portal that hasn't been updated yet? I got the email, but my ApplyUTH hasn't changed. It's making me paranoid haha.

Edit: Nevermind I see it's changed now!

Yeah it's the same with me. I have two immunization holds. I completed all of my prerequisites but I never received a transcript evaluation. I'm hoping every class was accepted. I'll call in a few to ask. I would hate for something to go wrong after just being accepted.

I have not received any acceptance, denial, or waitlisted email yet and my portal still says "Application Under Review". As some of you have said, it probably means denied or waitlisted. I have already been accepted into UTMB's program, so either way I'll be going to a great school, but I really would have liked to have been able to choose between the two. Has anyone received a denial or waitlist email yet?

Congratulations on being accepted into UTMB! I haven't received an email or change in portal either.

I will be staying with my parents just outside of the Woodlands as well! I'll join the carpool party too haha
