Hey only look at the pre reqs for the nursing program, if they are bad grades and not required I'd say you'd be fine!! Call and talk to an advisor, they're very honest as far as how all that goes!!

Eleven, CNA

For me, I'm doing two at a time. In the first email the advisor sent, there was a chart of different course load suggestions. I'm doing intro to nursing and an 8 week, then two 8 weeks together. I'm kind of nervous for how the workload will be!

I'm applying to the Bsn program at university of Arlington Texas. I have a GPA of 2.3 overall. My degree is in psychology....I have a couple of withdrawals and retakes. Do you think I get in? If I get accepted. I would have to take the pre requisites first...do you think if I get good grades in the pre reqs I can get in the program?

I just finished intro to nursing and it wasn't bad at all!

I opened a topic for my question but have gotten no response. For those who have a bs in something else, were you able to register for the online anatomy and physiology courses offered at UTA? I was told my a recruiter that we could. It take those courses. Is this true???

Hi! sorry for the late reply. I still need to take 14 to 15 after this semester. I still have a lot of subjects to take, I don't know if I can finish it this year. This set i'll be taking math, english 1, intro to psych and intro to prof nursing.Good Luck again,Eleven! :)

hi @adelam, I'm doing 4 subjects with different weeks, I think i have one subject that will run for 5 weeks. Actually, I don't know if I did the right thing of taking 4 subjects since this is my first time trying the online course. It feels overwhelming, I feel so behind even if I read some of the chapters for the first week. I hope that can adjust faster in the program. Are you applying for ABSN program too? Good Luck to you Adelam......

You've got this, don't stress!! My biggest advice is get big planner, that has the month at a glance as well as weekly broken down (I have one I got a Michaels arts and crafts store called my big happy planner)! Color code each class, on your month at a glance part write down due dates for assignments, quizzes and tests!! The weekly part put what chapters or assignments are required to be done that week!! Hope that helps!!

@ Adelam: Thank You so much for your advice....:),I appreciate it a lot.....By the way, I read from the recent thread that you just finished taking intro to nursing, is it the same with Intro to Professional Nursing? Im a little bit concern with the APA format.... can you also give some tips on how to get good grades on that subject...thanks again......

Please add me to the group. I just applied to UTA...sotokie@yahoo.com

No problem!!! That's the one I took (just shortened the name lol) it was online with Jennings! Honestly don't stress over the apa, she gives you different assignments to help figure it out! I had the apa manual (it was a required book last semester, but not this one from my understanding) but rarely used it! You'll get the hang of it!!

There is also APA software you can download as well as settings and templates you can find on Microsoft Wors built in.

I love my happy planner!!! It helps me stay organized and if I have time, I enjoy decorating it. It fills my need to scrapbook since I haven't made time for that in years.

Hi!

I'm a graduate of the UTA APBSN program - I love it!

For labs, you are required to attend campus based programs.

Your courses are online, but your labs must be in a lab setting.

The same goes with your clinical component of the program - your courses (i.e. med surg, pedi, etc.) are online for your textbook portion, but your clinicals are hospital based.

Mine were primarily on weekends, but it depends on the clinical setting and the availability for students.

Hope that helps!

We're labs during the week or in place of a clinical day? Also, were you able to juggle school and work okay?
