usually, how long into the program do clinicals start?

i know that every program is prob different but usually when do you start your clinical rotations? i will be an lpn student wednesday and i am just curious! thanks!

Just curious, for those who started clinicals weeks in, did you have a lighter school load those first few weeks or did they just replace the time you would have been in clinical with extra skills labs and lecture the first weeks of school?

For mine, the clinical replaces the skills lab. So we have lecture and skills lab for 7 weeks, that class ends and then we have lecture and clinical for the last seven weeks, we actually have them with the same professors so it doesn't feel like it's stopped at all, just a continuation

I think it depends on the school - I'm in a Associates degree program and my clinical started on the second day of class.

I'm in an 18 month LPN course starting tomorrow... :yeah: We start skills labs the first week of school and then our clinicals start the last 4 weeks of the semester.

We have a 2 hour skill lab & a 2 hour mandatory skills practice in addition to our clinical

We started a week after school started.

LVN program, tomorrow morning begins week three... next week monday is our first clinical orientation and after that, monday and tuesday 6 hr clinical rotations every week. When we are not in a clinical rotation, the time is used for skills (teaching, practice, check off)... first skills check off was at the beginning of week two (handwashing) and we have been going fast through skills ever since... it's a 12 month program.
