Hi,
Are there any USPHS commissioned officers who can share their experiences working in IHS facilities?
What is it like living in rural areas? Please share your stories with me because I am interested in joining USPHS upon graduation (finishing up my BSN and will be done in May).
Thank you :)
They did not mention anything about OBC, but
I'm scheduled for OBC for another 4or 5 months
do I didn't inquire about it. I wish I could go sooner.
IMHO I don't think our original orders are good for
OBC. If you go to obc ur being paid active duty pay.
I was told that part of the goal is to get us on the
charts.... Meaning no pay until were active and were
not active until we get new orders. I was told that my active date
likely change.
Hi everyone,I have a question about the rank structure in the USPHS. I'm considering joining after my time in the Navy. I'm a Lieutenant in the Nurse Corps currently. Will I maintain my O-3 ranking when I join the USPHS? I will have 5 years of nursing experience plus 2 years enlisted Navy experience under my belt when I join.
Also, are there any BOP jobs or DIHS jobs in the Houston area for nurses?
hello. I am just starting this process. Sounds like is kinda a lenghty one. have a couple of questions though.
how do they determine your starting rank? I am a BSN nurse with 6 years nursing experience (3 in the Air Force). I am assuming that I would come in as an 0-3.
I was probably going to apply to BOP (bastrop tx) or DIHS (pearsall or Taylor). Any info on these assignments?
Also I am still in the inactive reserve for the Air Force...Will that be a problem?
Any input would be helpful.
