USPHS Update
Someone suggested that I start my job as a GS and then switch over to PHS Officer....I never considered taking my assignment as a GS.... For me it was PHS frm the start.... After doing the math I realize that I would lose out on so much by going GS. My spouse also resigned ... So my 2 income fam is a bust right now....the Going GS would still leave me in a hardship.... I reallyhope they fix this fast. I know a guy that sAid he feels like writng and calling because of the lack of exposure this is getting.... I'm not sure if that's the way to go but it would be nice to receive some updates. Would any of yoU consider going GS and waiting for PHS?

Would any of you be willing to enter you new position on the GS level and wait to be added on as a CC Officer? Hmmm...In the meantime, You would lose out on lots of benefits etc.

Nothing yet... @ viper did your CAM tell you whether or not your name is on the roster

@ Everyone Has anyone else contacted his/her CAM to inquire about the cancelled orders.. and the time frame?
-
USPHS
They did not mention anything about OBC, but I'm scheduled for OBC for another 4or 5 months do I didn't inquire about it. I wish I could go sooner. IMHO I don't think our original orders are good for OBC. If you go to obc ur being paid active duty pay. I was told that part of the goal is to get us on the charts.... Meaning no pay until were active and were not active until we get new orders. I was told that my active date likely change.

Today Heard that those of us that were scheduled for active reserve after the 23d will be appointed to the Ready Reserve. The paperwork will have to go through the White House and other proper channels

@viper What did you CAM tell you? Wow...this is interesting...we all have signed contracts...you would think that a change in orders would come in writing.... Did your CAM give you any indication of the how this will be remedied?

USPHS Update
Has anyone received anything in writing? Are we supposed to just not show up at our assignments and risk being considered AWOL? What is your HHG have been picked up or resigned from you regular job? Perhaps those of us that have rec'd orders will be moved to the regular corps as well. Has anyone contacted his/her CAM? I will on Monday.

I just got the same call. I'm kinda upset too. I have already resigned from my job. The wording states that officers on active duty immediately become regular corps. This is get news for that group of reserve corps officers! It great news for the corps. It should also be great news for us! I have signed contract! Cut me new orders and give me a "regular" corps commision. Simple enough .. Right... Well maybe with an Executive Order or something. Has the Surgeon General issued a statement. Viper have you moved already? Are you somewhere Between being employed and not being employed?

@ Ultimo I have my orders...I was going to get my ID today...via telephone the specialist at the ARNG ID office asked if I was already in DEERS ...I called Rockville, MD to ask and an HR specialist told me that I would be in DEERS until my "call to active duty" date/TDY date...... I wondered if she just said that to get me off the phone or because she just didn't know....none of the people I spoke to in Rockville were officers...they were civil service employees..... Did you get your ID at a PHS location like CDC, etc. or at a RAPIDS station on a military base?

USPHS
Thanks Ultimo.... Okay, Does anyone know if you have to wait until your "active call to duty" date to get your IDs? I was told that Rockville will not input you into DEERS until that date. It seems a little unreasonable that one should have to wait until you official TDY date to get the ID especially if you have to travel across the country.
