  1. I'm sure my name is on the roster...My cam said that they want us to get in asap...I just am tired of waiting...
  2. I haven't...I talked to my cam yesturday and no new info...how about yall?
  3. Well then, the waiting game will continue...
  4. Did they tell you anything else? About OBC...etc...Do we get to use our origional call to active duty start date?
  5. Thats interesting...i didn't hear that yet, but I got my internary in my email today, still don't have orders...but I asked the OBC/training liason about am I still going to OBC and if my orders come in I guess I will still go to OBC this weekend...but I already canceled my resignation....
  6. I'm not sure, but what I've been told by my cam is that all of the orders for new call to dutys have been cx due to us being called to the active reserve, not the regular reserve...I'm mad because I checked my email and my I saw my travel iternerary on it...but I don't think they fixed the problem yet, so its like teasing me about my future...
  7. He told me that he didn't have any timeframe and he didn't want to speculate, but I'm hoping that its this month. My cam told me that they either have to get the paperwork fixed to allow us to call to active duty in the ready reserve or they may have to take our names higher up and get commissioned by the president or whomever can do it...Im getting the feeling that there isn't alot of info floating around right now...I mean the biggest things he said was we do have our jobs, our supervisors know about the situation and they are being very patient and compassionate with us, at least on the DOD side the liason to the army and the navy know about our plight...they said they would contact us as soon as they have some more information.
  8. I don't think it will be in writing, I received it via a conference call...the only people moved to active duty will be those already in the usphs, not the ones who have been called to active duty but not started yet. Your job should be safe, they have talked to your supervisors (at least on the DOD side). The most important thing is to talk to your cam.
  9. No problem, just want to make sure everyone has a chance to know whats going on to plan accordingly...
  10. Im ok, just had to take back my resignation letter, kinda holding off signing my new lease for our new house we are supposed to move to in july (which makes me nervious) because I haven't set up a date for the government to move me yet, my obc orders were cx'd for next week and I had to put my uniform order on hold...and I'm still so ready to start my job...
  11. Its isn't on their website, but if u google the healthcare bill with usphs it will say the creation of the ready reserve...by all means make sure u talk to your cam officer if u are really concerned...if u need more info, please either comment or instant message me..it doesn't mean you don't have a job, but rather your orders are pending that's all...the usphs is working as fast as they can to fix it
  12. Anyone else on this site who would be called to active duty in the USPHS within the next couple of months please read the following post: Due to the health care bill passing last week, all orders calling people into active duty in the USPHS is now voided. What happened is due to the wording of the bill the reserve corps were disbanded and a new ready reserves were created. Well, because all of us who were supposed to get called to active duty were going to be called to the active reserve corps for OBC or to start our new jobs. Now with it disbanded, our orders are invalid. There currently is not a time table in place yet to get the paperwork sent up to Sec of HHS (Kathleen Sebilious) to get an amendment to the law to give the USPHS the ability to commission their own officers. I have heard that the USPHS will get the orders out as soon as its possible and reschedule the people who were pulled out of OBC ASAP. So to make a long story short, everyone who is supposed to start their new jobs are now in a holding pattern. I hope that you had heard from your contact person about this by now. I wanted to say something because it effects me because my OBC was canceled and so was my flight there. I also had to put my uniform order on hold. I had to go back to my job and pull my resignation letter.
  13. I just found out that all the orders for the people who are coming to active duty have been canceled due to the wording of the new health care bill. I just had a confrence call with lcdr Dunbar....im kinda upset
  14. Anyone going to OBC in Apr? I am!!!! I just ordered my uniforms today (I was a last minute addition in the class)...I bought everything but the cold weather gear for the khaki's....did anyone need it for graduation? Thanks
  15. I found a house already...all I need to do now is get some uniforms and get my household goods ready to ship. Does anyone know if you need to be in deers before setting up a move date?
