Hey everyone!
has anyone else applied for spring 2017 bsn program at USF? I know we'll be getting admission decisions soon!
That makes sense but what doesn't make sense is how they expect an independent student, renting in SF, to be able to live on $600 less a month... I'm going to look for evening shifts at hospitals in the area but was hoping to not work during my first year. I'm enrolling in 16 units and will find a way to also work part time. This is frustrating but I'm still grateful I got in.
Thanks so much for your feed back. I intend on staying at USF. I'll find a way to make it work.
My wife is at UCSF for the Nurse Practitioner Program and their financial Dept does NOT limit their private loan amounts. She was able to take out enough in loans to get by. Meaning, UCSF understands that students have to take out a little bit more than what USF would consider certifying.

Oh wow!! That's great!! The USF certified amount is unrealistic :/
thank you, nice work on the savings! I put the littman card 3 in my Amazon basket and the next day the price went up $10.... Not sure what's going on there but I think they raise prices when school is about to start?I should add, I rented the fundamentals book since it was cheaper to rent twice than to buy the book. A senior told me we use the book 2 semesters. I also got my stethoscope on Black Friday and tried to save where I could.

I would have bought my stethoscope from Amazon but I wanted it engraved. Stethoscopes tend to walk away. And our 170 teacher did not recommend an expensive stethoscope (FYI). It could get lost and we don't need a fancy one for nursing school. I got a classic 3 which is more than they said we should spend, the cardiology 3 is expensive!!
Hi there-
Where can I find the list of books I'll need for the Spring Semester? I received as email stating the following: "Please complete your Webtrack quizes, but do not register until you receive specific instructions from our course scheduler. You should receive an email by mid-week next week." But I'm noticing some have registered and know which books to order. I don't want to wait till the last minute to order/rent my books. Can someone please advise... thank you.
You can go to the bookstore website and search by course. Don't worry about it yet. The bookstore is all roped off and not ready for students to purchase books. A lot of professors (I've heard) teach heavy on power point so the books are not an urgent matter. Supplies however are since you may not want to shop last minute.

I just went through this. A loan company can approve us for as much as it wants. Let's as 100K (exaggerating I know). USF tells us how much it will cost for us to live/but supplies/etc. If USF decides it will take 35K for ALL of school (room and board etc) and you have loans let's say are for 20K through federal etc. USF will tell the loan company you only are approved for 15K. Doesn't matter if the loan company says you can borrow 100K USF has the final say of how much. Does that make sense? Hope this helps
