USF Transfer Applicant from UC Davis

Published

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site so I was wondering if I could have a few nurses and student help me out with my situation. After posting in a large forum someone commented to start a forum in the CA nursing program forum. I recently applied to transfer into USF's nursing program for the Fall of '11. I am very scared of my odds. I have a 3.3 G.P.A. and have taken a few of the general education courses needed such as statistics and psychology. I have not taken any of the classes needed to start clinical. I am a volunteer at Sutter Davis Health Hospital, work at the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Center, participate in UC Davis Center for Leadership and Learning, and I am a part of the newly started Nursing Club on Campus. What do you guys think are my chances are of being admitted?

Thank you

any comments or suggestions? anything would be appreciated

i will also keep those who are interested in USF posted on my status

Specializes in Dermatology.

I'm a transfer student at USF. I think if you can make your personal AND supplemental essay stand out then your odds are much greater. I had a 3.5 gpa at the time of my application. I also completed ALL of my science requirements. Most applicants will have volunteer experience so to really give your application an edge, make sure both your personal and supplemental essay have been proofread and critiqued as many times as possible.

you should consider volunteering at one of the student run clinics that UCD has...it's a great opportunity.
