Hi everyone,
I am new to this site so I was wondering if I could have a few nurses and student help me out with my situation. After posting in a large forum someone commented to start a forum in the CA nursing program forum. I recently applied to transfer into USF's nursing program for the Fall of '11. I am very scared of my odds. I have a 3.3 G.P.A. and have taken a few of the general education courses needed such as statistics and psychology. I have not taken any of the classes needed to start clinical. I am a volunteer at Sutter Davis Health Hospital, work at the UC Davis Undergraduate Research Center, participate in UC Davis Center for Leadership and Learning, and I am a part of the newly started Nursing Club on Campus. What do you guys think are my chances are of being admitted?
Thank you
any comments or suggestions? anything would be appreciated
i will also keep those who are interested in USF posted on my status
I have received my USF ID and new password to check my application status. They have received all of my supporting documents and now all is left is to wait for Feb to hear back

I went to USF nursing school, but started in the BSN program as a freshman so I don't know much about transferring. Just wanted to say good luck!
Hi backinwonderland! Thank you! Can you tell me more about the program and you liked and didn't like?

What do you mean by not taking any of the classes to take clinical? If possible, take all required classes to make your application stronger. That is about all I can offer in the way of advice, other than to speak with a nursing school advisor to get their take on your advancement. Good luck.
Hi caliotter3! Im a second year at Davis so I do not priority to register for the science courses here however I do plan on taking anatomy if I can get in this summer. Thank you
Overall I really liked the program. I made some close friends and the majority of my professors and clinical instructors were very helpful. Clinicals in the city are cool because you have so many hospitals to choose from and you get a wide variety of patients and healthcare settings. The main thing that I didn't like was the price! Luckily I had a really good scholarship that covered almost everything, but baseline tuition there is ridiculous!
I received an email today notifying me that I will find out toward the end of March or early April :(

Hi Giant Panda. I applied for Fall 2011. The application date for the undergraduate nursing program was January 15th. Are you sure you have the right information or are you applying for a different program? I would love to keep you updated! Thank you for listing a few of the classes I need. The email I received listed all the ones they suggested I take while waiting to hear back.
