USF (South Florida) FNP Fall 2021

Hi everyone, 

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I wanted to start a place for those who have applied the the University of South Florida FNP program starting fall 2021. Previous applicants/accepted students please feel free to comment on the process for you!

Hi all! Im currently in my 3rd semester out of 4 in ABSN program. I will be graduating this December 2021. I want to apply to the FNP full time program fall 2022. I read all of your posts and was wondering if anyone had any advice? also for those that applied very early, when did the cycle apps open? 

A bit about me: I have CNA, and MA experience. nursing GPA so far is 3.68. I graduated with my BS from UF in 2017 with honors and have a lot of prior volunteering experience both medical and non medical related.

As far as I remember USF aap was open true Nursing Cas in October. The admission according to me is rolling on. If you are 100% sure that USF is your choice, than apply ASAP to secure your full time position. If not, wait until January-February, get your degree, and than apply. By doing this you will avoid conditional acceptance. Interview was so easy. I received letter of acceptance 3 days later.

About me, accepted in January '21 as full time PNP-DNP student, GPA 3.80, experience: A lot :)))). Good luck ?

I accepted offer for full time FNP MSN program. Nursing CAS verified 03/15, Interview 04/30, acceptance letter 05/14. Very excited to meet and work with all of you in the near future!

Hello! Does anyone know the difference in the length of program between full-time MSN vs DNP? Just out of curiosity!

Hey! From what I recall from an info session I attended, MSN FT can be from 5-6 semesters, while DNP FT can be from 9-11 semesters. It all depends on the concentration.

Hi everyone! I was just curious if their DNP program is online with periodic visits, or if it requires weekly in-person set class times? THank you all! I’m just looking at options!

Congratulations to everyone admitted! I received my acceptance to the MSN-FNP program and just wanted to encourage anyone waiting to not give up hope. USF truly looks at the applicant in a holistic way. 
 

Applied 4/20. Verified 5/3. Under review 5/18. Invitation to interview 5/18. Interview 5/21. Acceptance 6/7.
