USF (South Florida) FNP Fall 2021

I didn't see a thread for this yet so I wanted to start a place for those who have applied the the University of South Florida FNP program starting fall 2021. Previous applicants/accepted students please feel free to comment on the process for you!

Hi all!

I just received an invitation for interview for the Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP! I would love some tips if you guys are willing to share. Thankss!

To be honest, I was interviewing for the BSN-DNP and it was very informal. However, this was very early in the year, I am not sure if they are being more strict with their selections this late in the year. I do feel like even then, they are not severe in their interview. They mostly want to know why you chose full time, why you chose Acute care, they may ask you if you understand what the acute care program entails, and even if you don’t know the answer, they will explain it. They also gage your interests in other programs in case they fill up in your preferred program.

The Acute care NP interview was super informal. I prepped so much and she didn’t ask me like any questions! It was very relaxed and majority of time was spent with her telling me about the program.  Are you trying for full time or part time??

Thanks so much for this! I applied for full-time, but I’d do either or

I applied like 2 hours before the extended deadline closed and have an interview next week for FT FNP!  I’m hoping the interview goes well, looking at this thread I’m expecting something more informal than I thought. Congrats to everyone that got in!!

I had my interview yesterday ??? honestly it was a blur, but I felt very confident in every question! How long did it take to hear back about decision whether admitted or denied admission? TIA!

I was told 3-6 weeks after my interview! I feel like I didn’t do well, maybe it was a soft let down but that’s the time frame I was told!

Hey! So after my FNP interview I received my acceptance letter 6 days after!! I was at work and boom so the email and was soooo happy! I’m sure you did great ?
