Hi y’all! ? I don’t think I’ve seen a thread for those who are interested in applying to University of San Francisco (Sacramento campus) VANAP program for Fall 2021 yet, so I decided to start one. I’m hoping to connect with those who are also planning on applying!

Hi there! I actually recently found out about this program and am interested in applying. Considering they only accept around 20 students I imagine this program is quite competitive. I am from Sacramento area, are you?

Yeah, I heard both campuses are very competitive! Any nursing program really is competitive ? I’m in San Diego! But I used to live in Stockton, and if I get accepted, I’ll move back up there and live with my sister while going to school!

I have too, which is why Im worried I don't have a 4.0 GPA but I don't have terrible stats either(I think LOL). That is very true hahahah. I guess its worth a shot! That sounds like a great plan. Are you applying to other places as well?

I don’t have a 4.0 either. My overall is a 3.6 ? I don’t have any volunteer experience in a hospital, and I’m not a CNA. I just have phlebotomy experience. For fall, this is the only program I’m applying to. If I don’t get in, then during the next round of applications, I’m going to re-apply, plus apply to colleges and universities here in San Diego and Sacramento!
What about you? ?

A 3.6 is great! My overall is a 3.42, and prereq GPA for this program is a 3.89. I was a CNA for 3 months but I was never certified so I am currently working as a home health caregiver. I have been applying all over(St. Louis, Hopkins, Linfield, Northeastern, Samuel Merritt) because I really want to start by this fall, I applied to some for a Spring start but didn't get into the ones I hoped. I re-took Anatomy/Lab and currently retaking physio lecture so I think that will help! Im not sure though, applying is definitely a process I have learned.

You’ve applied to many, so that definitely increases your chances of getting in to at least one. Good luck to you! ? and that’s good you’re able to retake those classes! I know for the Sacramento VANAP, they rely heavily on your essay questions too
Thank you! I sure hope so I just am so ready to go and start! Thats great I have written a lot of essays so hopefully can spend some time on them. Good luck to you as well! I will keep you updated on when I submit my app ?

Same here. I’m hoping to get in this upcoming fall, or at least next Spring if I don’t get in this time around. Which school is your first choice? And thank you! I’ll keep you updated as well!

Honestly I really don't know. It has changed so much, it's always changing LOL. Originally it was Hopkins, but it is also the most expensive so I am trying to see which ones I get into and then weigh my options. Sacramento is home, so if I got into Samuel Merritt or even this program I would be happy because I could save some money and it would be nice to be close to my family. I will just have to see where I get in and then make a decision I guess!

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I need to send my AP transcript to USF, but when I search up the school on CollegeBoard to send my scores, there are many options so I'm not sure which to pick. Would "University of San Francisco (4850)" be the correct destination? This would be sent to the San Francisco location; I don't see an option that allows me to send to the Sacramento location. We just send out transcripts to the main SF campus or is there an option to pick Sacramento?

Good luck to you! Really hoping you get into one of those schools! I just submitted my application.
