Hello! Anyone out there applied to usf FNP or any ARNP program at usf for fall 18?? What are your stats? GPA, experience, do you have a BSN? When did you apply. Let's all keep in contact! I'm planning on applying within the next week or so.

Specializes in Neurology, Psychology, Family medicine.

Forgot to answer this question concerning changing status. I am not an expert on this at all so I am guessing at this point. I do know they hold a specific amount of spots of full vs part time. So if you accept full they expect you to maintain full time. They will most likely tell you they would prefer this doesn't happen as it misses with their ratio and doesn't benefit them; just so you can complete classes faster....But, life happens and most likely if it did happen they could accommodate. But gut reaction is if you told them that right off ripe they will tell you no.

Thanks for all of the insight, greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to beginning the program in August.

Hmm ok so this is my situation, applied February 13, my nursingCAS application was 100% complete, still just says "verified" now I am reading posts for those who have been already notified of acceptace and interviews and I only see that my application has been under "review" since 2/23/2018...I emailed the program to follow up. I thought that they would close the application date which was March 15 THEN start reviewing their applications but from what others are saying this is not true. hmmm now I am really starting to wonder. HOWEVER I am in my last semester of the BSN program at USF...not sure if they are waiting for that? I am a nurse of 8 years, critical care, charge nurse, leadership and volunteer roles, 3.9 GPA...so I am just kinda losing sleep over this one...

Hello! I've been accepted and I am also in my last semester at USF RN-BSN program so i know that they don't wait for that. It is contingent that you finish your BSN before the program starts

PM me. My husband is in the MSN-AGPC program (fall 2017 start). You are correct in that all concentrations and the MSN and DNP programs are together at first. I'm a bit confused about the postings on here regarding on-campus visits/classes being required because everything has been 100% online and multiple people that attend or have attended various program tracks have told me it was nearly 100% online except for your actual clinical hours. In fact, even though we both currently live and work in Tampa and will now both be attending USF, we are planning to move this summer to the Space Coast because it's primarily online.

However, I am definitely going to be calling or going in to get clarification about their in-person requirements and/or offerings. I will update if I receive new information and you should do the same, as well.

Not sure about AGCP program but I know 2 people that graduated FNP and 3 that are in the program and after about 2 or 3 semesters they were in class about 2 times per week. Not sure if they are changing things but when I interviews she did say that they are trying to be mostly in class than online in up coming semesters. And I'm from the space coast area! Moved to tampa 5 years ago. What makes you want to move there??? I thought about moving back just because all our (me and bf) Family is there and I have a 1 1/2 year old but I'm not too sure if I want to move back. There isn't anything there worth going back for besides being 10 minutes from the beach and family.

Got acceptance today for DNP program. So check your emails... they should be coming!

Congrats Nurselord! I know the wait was killing you.

I tried to PM you but I couldn't see where to do that. lol. I called the school today and was told that if I was part time, I would all be online until the third semester when I had to begin taking assessment...then I'd have to be in class once a week. However, I will be full time and therefore have to take assessment the very first semester so I will need to quit my job and move to Tampa immediately, unfortunately.

I was told today that as a full time student, I would graduate in May of 2020. If I was part time, it would be two semesters and a half a year later in Dec of 2020. Since this AGPC track is only 45 credits it looks like I will only be taking 9 credits a semester if I'm only doing 5 semesters total. I tried to get more specific information but it is difficult and I won't truly know my path until our June 20th orientation.

Congrats on getting in the program. I am going to go the full-time route as well in the FNP track.

To PM someone, click on their screen name which will take you to a different page where you will see 2 tabs that say "Send PM" and "Add Friend".

You may not be able to PM someone until you have a certain number of posts in the forum, but I am not quite sure what the requirements are.

For those of you going full time, do you have young children? Do you plan on working? I would love to go full time but between a 1 1/2 year old and having to work its not doable, at least for me. I rather not be more stressed than I need to be lol

I would like to go full time, but I'm still weighing my options. I have 3 littles and currently work full time, but thinking I will drop to PRN or part time once the program starts. I just don't want to feel overwhelmed and regret it. And it looks like you can't change your status once it's selected from what I read?

Exactly. I don't want to be overwhelmed. As much as I want to get done with it I don't want to mess up and fail because I'm stressed. Although I only have one kid but it's still an adjustment. And no you can't switch from full time back to part time.
