Hello! Anyone out there applied to usf FNP or any ARNP program at usf for fall 18?? What are your stats? GPA, experience, do you have a BSN? When did you apply. Let's all keep in contact! I'm planning on applying within the next week or so.
For those of you going full time, do you have young children? Do you plan on working? I would love to go full time but between a 1 1/2 year old and having to work its not doable, at least for me. I rather not be more stressed than I need to be lol
I plan on going full time. I don't have any youngsters to take any of my time but I do plan on finding a job in Tampa...hopefully in an HCA hospital. I feel like I will have enough time to do both because my track is only 45 credit hours spread out through 5 semesters. I've been used to taking 20 credit hours a semester so 9 seems so little to me in comparison. :) If I have to reduce my work hours at a later time, I will try to do so.
My kids are grown for the most part at ages 20 & 16, they are busy with their lives now. My biggest issue is deciding if I should keep my chiropractic practice open while attending the program full time versus downsizing & picking up some work as an RN at a hospital or urgent care center 3 days/week. While it does have its perks, it was a bit of a challenge running and managing a business while doing the Accelerated BSN. I am currently in the process of evaluating all of my options and taking some interviews with urgent care centers and hospitals. I can always work as an RN and moonlight as a chiropractor a few days a week so I have flexibility.

How do you like HCA Hospitals and what department are you working in? Any thoughts on their StaRN programs?
Congratulations to those who have been accepted! I was notified today that I am on the waiting list....anyone else in the same boat? This was the loooongest wait EVER and it continues LOLOLOL! Oh man!
I can tell you for me in my email, it stated we had to declare our intent to enroll by April 23rd. I would think you would hear by then? í ½í¹í ¼í¿»í ½í¹í ¼í¿»
Just got an email with the break down of classe between full time and part time. Full time is 4 classes per semester part time is 2. Definitely sticking with part time. 4 different classes, working full time, a toddler and not having family around does not sound like a good situation to be in lol. To everyone doing full time I'm jealous! I wish you all luck because it looks stressful

One can only hope. In my email it stated they will make final decisions by the end of July...when I called for clarification, they said by June 1st. So I do not really know! They also said the number of people on the wait list and the number you are on that list can't be given out. So it is a big mystery. It is a rigorous process, that I know....it just seems like a long drawn out process for those not chosen right away.
Hello!
I applied for the MSN-Adult Primary Care. My coursework was verified through NurCas Feb 23rd and I have still not received any sort of email..Feeling very discouraged yesterday, I called the Nursing Graduate Office and they said as of last Friday (4-6-18) they had only gotten through 50% of ALL applications and that they ARE still reviewing applications, sending emails and interviews etc, it could take up to a few more weeks she said.. I hope that puts some minds to ease as it sort of did for me.. #anxiouslywaiting

Hey RN0508,
When they notified you of being on the waitlist was it by email or phone call? Just curious. Thank you!

Thank you very much! Congratulations on your acceptance into the program as well! Yeah, I initially tried to click on the screen name but I only see the "add friend" tab so you're right in that we must have to have a certain amount of posts before we can PM someone.
I look forward to meeting you and the others in the program. I am curious how many total people will be in the program...how many in each concentration, MSN, DNP, etc... I have a feeling that there will be around 200 people in each class since we're all taking most of the same classes.
