USF CA CNL Spring 2011

Published

Not sure if there's a University of San Francisco CNL (MSN for non-nurse) thread started for Spring 2011 applicants. Here it is!

hi mistymall,

nope, didn't get accepted either :)

in same boat as you. At least I don't feel like a total loser. Did you know they have 400 applicants this term?

Anyway, are you going to apply in the february?

misty and space,

sorry to hear about the letter. =( definitely re-apply!

i haven't received anything from USF yet...not sure if its cuz I live in SF so postal isn't as efficient or what!

400 applicants?! That's insane!

Good luck in the near future and hope you get your happily ever after. =)

I just got my rejection letter too. Bummer. It's okay though, I only see this as part of the process of getting my foot in. USF is only the second school I've applied to. UCLover - seems like no news is good news! You might be in, and upon reading your previous posts sounds like you've earned it after two years of applying! My goodness. I figure there are many of applicants in your shoes who would be getting in with that fabulous 10% acceptance rate! I'm hoping to start the CNA program at the junior college near me to better my application for the summer class. I got waitlisted at SM here in Sacramento for the entry-level MSN-CM program, but I'm not sure if I'm going to start there or not. Good luck to everyone! What a process this all is...

Meli, thanks! After the first couple of rejections, an acceptance is anti-climatic...after awhile with programs telling you no for so long, sometimes I doubt if I really wanna do it, you know?

Definitely do the CNA program! I did it at a private school so it was $$$ but in the end, it is very humbling and a great start to see if nursing is right for you.

Good luck everyone! You'll get there sooner or later....its a matter of time. =)

Sure thing! I was sort of relieved to be honest when I got the letter from USF. At least now I can plan my next moves. I'm a B average too, especially since my undergrad years were less then stellar in academia. Please keep us posted, or feel free to send me a message privately about the turn out. I am really interested in USF, so I definitely plan on re-applying. I was told by Megan that if you re-apply it gives you a better chance the next time around. Good luck again. You deserve it after two years in the waiting game!

hi everyone. i'm sorry to hear of the unfortunate news. i have to say i'm surprised though since i received a mass email that says decisions don't go out until december 1st :/ but let's not all give up! we have our goals on lock and we will get there eventually! good luck =)

I was just curious: did anyone on this forum get good news?

Space, haven't heard anything yet. Will you be applying again for Summer?

If I don't get in, I have no choice but go to SMU in January. I'm really hoping for USF now!

UClover,

yeah, I will re-apply in February. Would you go to USF rather than SMU?

Either way you are going one of those places :) how many times did you apply to both schools before SMU accepted you?

Space, goodness! I feel like I've been applying forever to nursing programs! Applied to UCSF twice in 2008 and 2009 (you only need 3 pre-reqs)...Did some more pre-reqs and applied to SMU for Fall 2010...then reapplied for SMU for Spring 2011 with an application to USF first-time (this forum).

If I counted how I spent on application fees, tests, transcripts, etc...it could pay my rent in SF and then some!

I think I couldn't turn down USF even if I wanted to so yes, USF is first choice. =)

Don't get discouraged! Just keep fighting...tenacity is half the battle! =)

I just got a call from MM saying that I was accepted. She said they were calling since they were a little behind and that a packet would follow shortly. Good luck to everyone else whether it be at USF or another nursing school!:)

Thanks Rigs...What does your last name start with?
