USF applicants 2013

Anyone applying to USF's (University of South Florida) nursing program?. I feel discouraged because I heard how competitive and rigorous it is.I have a 3.7 GPA. finished about half of my pre-reqs, got A's in all of my science courses. A B in statistics, ethics, and humanities:sarcastic:. I'm currently an ambassador at a community college and volunteering at a hospital. If those aren't good enough to get in the program I don't know what will lol. Is anyone here a USF nursing student? I would love to hear your experiences. I hope I can at least get into USF or my community college. If those fail..then it's off to Rasmussen or technical for me!!

Hi guys, I got denied. Guess they didn't like my essay. GPA isn't everything, as we know! Best of luck to all you guys. I am upset but clearly USF isn't what God has planned for me.

Does anybody know how many students they accepted for Fall 2013?

We had 120 students total. That included both Second Degree students and Upper Division students.

Hey PalmHarbormom! Have you ever heard of the alternate list that USF has? I'm in right now so I don't know if I have to do orientation or not. Thanks

I'm not sure how the alternate list works. To be on the safe side, I suggest calling or send an email to see if you need to be at orientation.

For any of the alternates. There is still hope that you may get in. I know of a student that was offered a spot just a couple days before classes started. Not to say that it is definite but the hope is there.

Maybe God wants me to be there still cause my friend has 3.8 GPA and she got denied. I'm so stressed though cause I don't have any other options. I'm living in Orlando so it's gonna be another whole year to wait for UCF or one of the community colleges.

Nursing schools are getting so competitive ! GPA doesn't cut it anymore. So much competition when there are barely any new grad jobs.

I also believe there are places one is meant to be. If something is for you its for you and no one can take it away.
