USF applicants 2013

Anyone applying to USF's (University of South Florida) nursing program?. I feel discouraged because I heard how competitive and rigorous it is.I have a 3.7 GPA. finished about half of my pre-reqs, got A's in all of my science courses. A B in statistics, ethics, and humanities:sarcastic:. I'm currently an ambassador at a community college and volunteering at a hospital. If those aren't good enough to get in the program I don't know what will lol. Is anyone here a USF nursing student? I would love to hear your experiences. I hope I can at least get into USF or my community college. If those fail..then it's off to Rasmussen or technical for me!!

I don't know about that. Do you think it would be better to get a place to live already or wait for the nursing orientation to see where our clinical will be?

On the Intent to Enroll form it says what ever address you put there is how they will base your clinical site, so I would get your living situation established now. I didn't see anywhere to pay for the nursing orientation, but it seems they are going to charge for everything!!! lol

Yeah its bettee to find out where you're staying now so they can try to match it up with clinical sites. I'm actually going doing there on the 26th to look for a place and turn in some paper work. I was looking at the students apartments online and found one for 460 per room a month. It was decent

Hey guys! I have been following this conversation for weeks while I was in the process of applying to USF, and was always too lazy to make an account. I just found out I got into the Nursing program today though so I decided I would share my excitement with you guys too! I cannot believe the path to my career is finally starting and I am beyond excited to begin in August! I just recently moved back to Tampa from Gainesville so that I could live with my parents and do this program. I no longer really know anyone in Tampa cause all of my high school friends have all gone to different cities so I am super excited to meet all of you guys!! Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted, and for those who are still waiting I wish you the best of luck :) :)

Hey everyone I just found this thread! I found out today that I got into the program, but I haven't made a final decision yet because I have an interview with UNF next Friday. If I do go to USF, I won't know anyone because I'm a transfer from Miami! If I decide to go, I would love to meet up with some of you at orientation to get to know some people. I'll post my decision on here when it's made. Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone else on other schools!

USF also has the LLC community for pre nurses when it comes to off campus housing --kinda expensive but hopefully affordable! Have to find out with my fin package ..hopefully there'll be other nurses rooming as well...but just signed up for orientation can't wait !!

Congrats to everyone who got in!!! They said that my status is pending so I'm just waiting and praying. I have been selected as an alternate for admission. Does anyone know how it works?

It won't let me to reply to your message! but it's nice to meet you too! And congrats on getting in...i'm sure you were thrilled when you got the email, my mom and I were freakin out when I got mine since USF was my 1st choice! When will you decide if you're going to USF? I signed up for my orientation for July 17th, if you have that one too maybe we can meet up! :)

Checked my email tonight when I got off work and found out I didn't get in. Pretty upset right now since I spent over a month doing the essay and my GPA was good, no other options right now since USF was my only option but I'll get over it eventually. Good luck to everyone in the program..
