Hi!
I was wondering if any of you who work in ostomy or home health have used probiotics for PEG tube patients with diarrhea. I've often wondered if Kefir (Lifeway) could be used safely in the PEG tube since it is fermented dairy and has probiotics in it. Its slightly thicker than milk and is tasty. But to use in PEG tubes, I've read some online posts from people with PEG tubes who successfully use KEFIR to stave off diarrhea.
Does anyone have some input as to this?

I work in HH. The patient I care for now, including others that I know of recieve Kefir via g-tube. I've noticed that this form of probiotic is actually the preferred out of all other brands/forms
